I made a reservation and they cancelled it without talking to me. THen I talked to 6 people, my unit was NOT available. I missed my flight to Los Angeles. Horrible company. In the last 6 or 7 months my rent has been raised by $150. First a 35% increase on a $250 unit. Then I moved to a lower priced unit and a 40% increased was levied after one month. I was not notified in either instance. Needless to say I am in the process of moving. I had a clearance giveaway and several of the people stopped by the office because they didn't read the details of the address. Beware they will increase more than 100% within a few months. Bad business practices.
I'm bummed that I didn't read reviews before storing here. They only allow month to month leases, randomingly increase rent for no discernable reason, and their units are NOT climate controlled. Will lower your increased rent (by a little) only if you call and complain. Will never rent with them again. 1110 Route 36, Hazlet, NJ, is the location I'm at.
Do NOT Rent from this company. I found Roaches in my bookbag soon after I rented. They Raised my rate in 9 mos $11 more, told me they can raise it Anytime they wanted too. Buyer BeWare!
Just came from the one in Newark NJ and they stole my deceased husband's shoes!!! I have to go and see what else is missing. I'm going back there to file an insurance claim.
Do not use Extra Space Storage. It was dirty and dusty and mouse infested in Bayshore. Your fee will double in a year and triple in 3 years.
Please stay far away from this company!!! Do some research before signing a lease with them! They do a bait and switch scam on their customers. They get you in and then double or triple your rent. I didn't even get any kind of notice. Sounds like most people don't. Theor reviews are not accurate either. They pushed me into giving them 5-stars before I even got into my unit. They told me to go ahead and file a complaint because there is nothing I can do. I can't believe this place hasn't been shut down yet. Huge scammers!
