Not sure you can beat their prices, their cleanliness and generally professional staff. We used this place as an 'in between' between moves for a few months and were quite happy. It's well lit, easy to get in and out of, secure and the prices were more reasonable than anything else we could find in the city...Carts are available for easy use too. I keep meaning to finally write a review instead of preying on everyone else's, and Extra-Space Storage was what finally got me to get off my ass and write something. Have you ever needed to rent a truck at U-Haul in San Francisco? You kind of dread it, as the staff always appears to be bothered to help you and the rental facility always seems to be full of down and out types. I rolled into Extra Space Storage on my first day in San Francisco. This place is great! It's clean, the staff is very helpful and professional, and the units are super secure. Also, the prices are good and you can pay your bill online or over the phone. On my second day there, my lock got messed up and it took them under ten minutes to cut it and replace it at no extra charge. Awesome!
Overall I was very impressed. We stored all of our stuff for a 6 month extended trip and compared quite a few storage places and this one came out on top. What I like: -Clean -Well-lit (It's kinda scary to be in a huge dark storage facility alone) -Great security: individual alarms/key codes for each person/unit -Gated -Extremely nice & responsive staff -Decently priced
I compared with the nearby Public Space storage and Extra Space was dramatically better. Extra Space storage has new, clean facilities. They also have a neat security system -- each compartment has an alarm, tied to your personal code. The prices as of Oct-Dec 2006 were very reasonable, and I got two months free on a special. The staff was always friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a pleasure to use their services.
New facilities, which are clean, friendly and super helpful service! Great specials going on at the moment so hurry and store your stuff. Minus one: No easy parking but close to the freeway.
I have no issue with local staff. But I would never again do business with Extra Space Storage, and I encourage others to do likewise. We moved stuff for storage into a 5x7 space at $77 a month. Four months later Extra Space Storage increased our monthly rent from $77 to $154. My math says they doubled the rent. There was nothing saying our $77 a month for this tiny space was an introductory rate. And this is not what Extra Space says. so I've had my storage unit at this place for two years now. it was fine at first but as time goes on they screw you more and more by jacking up the prices. my unit is a 10x20 they just raised my rent on that unit to 950 bucks a month, if you go on their website the price is over half off and is only 400 buck'. management says to me the longer you rent a unit from us the more you pay that's not right. they are a bunch of thieves
