Went on 1/10/2021 for my hair color. The hair color artist would definitely need some training, how to talk to the clients. I told her this is my 1st time here and showed pics of my previous brown colors I had from different saloon , she said then you better go to them because you can't get this one but I would try to give you the closest one but ta da after 2hrs , I came with nothing, Seriously wasted my 200+$ and got nothing. Hours are apparently arbitrary. They aren't actually open as late as is listed in their hours. For example, today (Saturday) they were closed, and had clearly been closed for a while (lights out, no one inside, no one leaving, etc.) when I arrived at 7:30pm. Hours state that they are open until 8pm on Saturdays. This has happened multiple times, on all different days of the week. If they aren't actually open during the hours posted, then they need to update that information. Extremely disappointing.
If there's an option to extract stars button to rate this place, it would be accurate to describe my experience. I had a haircut on Saturday 31st of October at 9:45 am with Addison to cut my split ends to boost my hair to grow healthier. Plus I bought every Kérastase product that he recommended so I can have a fresh healthy start (total spend was more than 200$). Im so upset - especially that I lost my hairdresser of 4 years - the redmond salon did not disclose (in the beginning when they 1st opened) - that they dont take cash.. (they do now, but not then) - or that they dont use blow dryers .. when i got there and the process began, i was informed there was no blow drying (my hair is long and will not respond well without it) - as a result,, it didnt.. Long story short -- needed hair color fast, i called, they said they had same day vacancy but that they needed pictures. I sent them the pictures and never heard back. When i asked about it 3 days later, they were rude and defensive, claiming they have another 3 days to respond. Which i can respect were it not for me specifically mentioning i needed something fast. Gene Juarez has been my go to hair cut location for years and it still is but when I decided to get my hair colored by them I recently realized how they have consistently done a sub par job to the point of cheating. Every single time I have done a full foil or a balayage with them the colorists have only colored the top half of my hair while charging me exhorbitant rates for a full foil. I continue to have issues with cancelled appts with no backup plan. So I go without color and then my next appt I show up a little late and they offer no grace. They cancelled my appt again. Incredible. Double standard. No customer service mentality on either side of this experience. I love my Stylists so this is not about the work they do. It is really about the service mentality of the front desk. For the price they charge it surely is not Nordstrom level and it should be.

Update 8/2/20: Gene Juarez tried calling me several times when I wasn't available to discuss "what happened". I finally told them when I was available and they never called me again. They also promised me a refund over two weeks ago and I have yet to receive it. This is based on two different experiences I had at the Redmond location of Gene Juarez within about 10 days of each other. The first appointment was for a haircut. Quick update. My regular colorist is back from maternity leave, so I decided to give Gene Juarez another chance. They scheduled me for a hair color no problem. However, when I showed up they told me they "cannot provide me color services based on my previous experience," even though before they offered me a free service. It's amazing how petty Gene Juarez got after I wrote a bad Yelp review.
