Dead in less than a year I bought this printer in August of 2019 and hardly used it. June 2020 and a paper got jammed and it started smoking and now is broken.
Works fine until the fuser roller overheats after 18 months. Worked great until the fuser roller overheated after 18 months and now all the paper comes out wrinkled/embossed, despite the fuser unit being less than 1/3 the way through it's lifespan according to the printer itself. Brother used to make quality printers that lasted a long time, but in the past few years, the quality has slipped a lot and the printers start having problems soon after the warranty runs out. Does anyone make printers that last a while any more?
It stinks It prints horrible. And when I send 1 copy request it makes 20 copies
Poor Firmware update download from Brother. Rendered Printer Useless Printer stopped working after purchasing new When I did a firmware which basically rendered Printer totally dead Unable to recover
Can One Actually Hate an Inanimate Object? Yes One Can I was a devoted Brother customer for many years. After buying this pile of junk, encountering one frustration after another, and talking to a "tech" person who I could barely understand and knew less about this machine than I do, I wouldn't accept another Brother if offered to me free, as my time is too valuable to be wasting day upon day with a printer. Just stopped working All of a sudden the printer won't power on. No help, no repair facilities nearby (I live just outside of NYC) . I tried the power reset but to no avail. Very disappointing. Call tech support and wait forever.. Now I am trying to find a way to dispose of this. I had high hopes for Brother after being an HP user for years but now I am staying away from the brand.
Do not buy. Total junk This printer messes up more than it actually prints. When it prints the quality is great. If you want a printer that prints when you want it to then don't buy this one. Spend a little more for the all in one. It says there is a jam all the time even when there isn't. If you use card stock or a thicker paper it will incorrectly say that the paper tray is empty. The mp tray hasn't worked since the day I received it. If you want to yell and cuss at an inanimate object then this printer will suit your need... read more
high maintenance printer with multiple deal-breaking defects. would not ever buy this again. here are the bullet points, in no particular order: #1 printer makes numerous long pauses during printing jobs, often for 5-10 minutes at a time. it simply says "waiting for a while," in the middle of your print job, and then waits for ten minutes. this has never been a deal-breaker for me. from what I understand it is cooling down to prevent overheating. however, it happens consistently enough, to the point where it seriously decrea... read more
By far the worst printer I have had this printer for 24 hours and already regret this purchase. Not only is it hard to set up but prints at a glacial pace. I would save my money and buy the cheapest printer on the market, it would be the same quality as this printer.
