I was extremely unlucky with the service. I came in with previously done balayage with request to tone my highlights to slightly darker. First of all colorist wasn't friendly at all and she acted indifferently to what I was saying, even walked away after I was telling her what kind of result I wanted. Other clients were offered water/coffee, I was not even heard. I have been a client at the WC salon for years. Joined not long after they opened this location. I go in every month for color with my paid membership. All of the stylists I've had over the years have been terrific, fun and understanding. The salon manager is also kind and customer focused. Unfortunately the stylist turnover at the location is getting worse and so the results are hit or miss. Had a very very unpleasant experience during my last appointment. Completely hit & miss. They have a couple of color technicians which are great. Brianna is my favorite. However you cannot choose & you may end up with one of their many poorly trained staff. The turnover here is ridiculous. The last time I had Brianna do my hair she did a great job as always. But the assistant (Maria I think) was very rude & unprofessional. Thank you for your response; it is very much appreciated. Let me clarify something, though: My checking experience was totally fine. It was actually around 7:00 pm when the new assistant manager came up behind my chair and, in a somewhat rushed manner, spoke quite harshly to the stylist who was finishing my hair. She even said to my stylist, "What exactly are you doing TO HER right now?" Service received: Five stars Managing team (for this last visit): One star I have been coming to Madison Reed in Walnut Creek for more than a year now (since 7/24/24), and I have truly loved it. Booked a root touch up, all over one-color, dark brown. First process was several levels too light, second process left my roots bright orange, eventually the assistant shampooing, me put color on and finally got a close enough match after 3 processes. It took 3.5 hours and I did not have time for them to blow dry. the girls are super nice, but many seemed inexperienced. never get your hair hilighted here. had to go back because was uneven and left with darker hair. i asked if a standard hilight was possible and was assured yes, most traumatic experience and will never go back.

My 15 year daughter went in to get her hair done before her first day of school... she was greeted right away when she checked in and told to sit and wait. So she did... for almost an HOUR!! No one came over!!! They took other clients while she sat there right in front of the woman who was going to be her stylist. After over 45 Minutes she finally asked what was going on. I was so excited to get my hair done at Madison Reed, unfortunately this place does not live up to all the 5 star reviews. I went in for a consultation before booking my appointment, during which I showed the color inspiration I was aiming for and discussed my hair goals. The stylist I spoke with assured me that the look I wanted was achievable and that a balayage would be ideal.
