I've always wondered about this shop. I went in to inquire about the services. I waited to talk to someone. When asked about services, she gave me a pamphlet and then left. I had some questions that never were answered. I won't be coming back here.

I went to the Walnut Creek location today. I stopped going to this location and started going to the San Ramon location and today's visit reminded of why. The staff are not very friendly nor knowledgeable. I ask to purchase the root kit and the person said "this is the last thing your purchased." It;s a good thing I checked because she sold me the wrong item. I had to go back and exchange it. Never again to this location.

I rarely give negative reviews, but this business was not upfront about the type of clients they serve. When I made an appointment for my teenage daughter, they should have let me know at that time that they don't service anyone under 18 years of age. The front desk person was surprisingly curt, as if I should have known about their adult-only policy. This was my first time coming across a salon that doesn't take teenagers. The customer service here sucks. They need someone at the front desk to assist customers who walk-in. No one greeted me when I walked in. The ladies were concentrating on coloring the clients hair which I understand but at least acknowledge the person who walked-in. I only came in to pick up an online order that I already paid for. I've never left a negative review before, but I feel I was a bit wronged by Madison Reed in Walnut Creek. I want to start off by saying this is nothing against the girl who helped me (for the most part) who was extremely nice. I have used Madison Reed for color touch up for a couple years now. The color itself is good, the concept is great, but the Walnut Creek location is really bad! I arrived for my appointment right on time. The stylist sat me down after a few minutes and put some goo on my hairline and left to mix color. 25 minutes later I had to go search for her to see if she has forgotten about me. My color turned out fine. I was disappointed that even though I arrived 25 minutes early for my appointment and was asked to wait (that someone would be helping as soon as possible) I still had to alert the staff (at 12:59 pm) that I had a 1 pm appointment. I also noticed that several other clients were offered water or hot tea, but I was not approached by either my stylist or anyone else as to whether or not I wanted anything to drink. Despicable front desk service (Not even a 'hello, nice to meet you, thanks for choosing us' etc.), and hands-down, the WORST blow-out I have ever had. I also don't need to be reminded at every turn that I'm a 'badass.' Do yourself a favor and find a professional salon that treats you like a valued customer. Beyond inappropriate for well-educated, professional clientele.
