I've been to a ton of jewelry stores in the last few months and this place is just totally different to anything I've seen before. Looking around at other stores it can be confusing to know the differences between rings and why some stuff is priced higher and some lower. Sometimes you look at a tray of rings and they can all look the same honestly. Decent selection on stones and settings. Prices are high here. Not Tiffany's high but if you look around their store, you can see, they have some serious overhead that needs to be passed along to the consumer. Sales reps were nice enough but we really didn't get an education. I found that their Platinum settings were astronomically high (like almost $5k for something with 2 side stones - I got quotes from many other places for like $2k-3k range)! Our son was looking for a specific setting and could not find it online or in a store. Mervis Diamond Importers at Tysons did what no other jeweler could. They delivered the dream ring he had in mind, in time for a perfect proposal at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in the Outer Banks. Mervis Diamond Importers sets the bar for retail jewelry experience! First off, and I will get back to this later, this is a place that you have to pass through two security doors to get into. On top of that they prefer to take appointments. Even thought they take walk ins, an appointment is preferred for them and is best for you as well. The staff at the Tysons Corner Mervis store was outstanding (even when I brought my 3 year old son with me, they treated him great)! My fiancée and I were in there multiple times to get the right ring, the right stone, and the right wedding bands with each visit being better than the last. We worked with Jordan Stein each time and he is great (extremely knowledgeable, great personality, no-pressure attitude). Mervis is THE BEST! We have been going there since 2005 when we first got engaged and have nothing but the best experiences and we have purchased many items from them. Without question, a great experience from start to finish. After working with a couple of other jewelers in NOVA, we decided to visit Mervis one Saturday afternoon to see what they had to offer. Yes, the double doors for security was weird to get used and didn't set the right tone as we made our way into the store. Once inside though we were impressed. I came to Mervis being thoroughly unimpressed with Jared the Galleria of Jewelry. When I arrived at Mervis it was 5:30PM and they closed at 6PM. The salesman who assisted me stayed past 6PM to assist me and get an idea of what I was looking for. Keep in mind I showed up without making an appointment. When we wrapped up day one I had made a followup appointment to come back the next day.
