Brother MFC-J491DW This was the worst product that I ever order. It works when it want to.
Scam should be illegal - class action necessary Will disable itself completely if a single color cartridge is low or empty, even if black ink is full. Displays "black and white print only" but doesn't let you. I put in a brand new yellow cartridge and a few days later it was low, without printing anything. I will never buy another Brother product again. Ever. And I will tell anyone when the topic comes up NOT to buy a Brother product
Faulty Product Plugged it in and the touch screen lit up, but it never displayed any information. Sent it back.
Constantly out of ink This printer is terrible. Overtime I go to print, it states "Out of ink". I've refilled the ink, print about two or three pages, and it comes back up "Out of ink". I check the cartridges and they show they are full. This printer will make an excellent boat anchor!
didn't work Wouldn't hook up to the computer. Tried several ways to get it to connect and even with their disc it would not operate with the system. Sent it back and managed to fix my old Brother printer,
I don't like this printer I am extremely disappointed in this printer. For years I have had HP printers, but when two laptops and one printer went out on the same day at the same time, I figured planned obsolescence. I have several Brother products that I love and decided to try the printer. Good for 3 months... Worked great for about 3 months. Suddenly color won't print, scanner has gone wonky...
Piece of junk Paper tray keeps jamming. Wastes paper and much time with little resume.
Printer not printing colors even after cleaning nozzles. Liked the DW but sometimes it didn't work, now it will not print in color. I used the printer occasionally to print documents or photos. Didn't use it everyday. Red and Yellow colors are not printing, even after replacing with new cartridge ordered from Amazon. I used ink cartridges that were recommended for the MFC-J497DW printer. Cleaned nozzles and still not working just used up my ink. Would like to return but as usual return date has expired. A waste of money and ... read more
