Software is awful. Not worth the effort or money. Printer worked well at first. After a few months, I discovered a problem that many other reviewers have noted, to their great frustration. When I print by wi-fi, the printer does not connect. After at least two hours of studying every detail of the displays, options and firmware, I have concluded the software just doesn't work anymore. BUY LOTS OF INK IF YOU WANT TO PRINT Horrible value. Yeah, great price on printer, and then, as many have stated, stops printing for no reason. Same messages. "Add cyan, add black, add magenta...EXCEPT THEY ARE MORE THAN HALF FULL. If you don't use THEIR CARTRIDGE? Same error. They know people will buy their cartridges, because now they have no choice.
Brother Printers Drink Ink This printer uses a lot of ink! NOT THE SELLER'S FAULT! Color ink disappears even though 99.9% of my printing is in black % white. I think it's Brother's way of selling more ink. DO NOT BUY A BROTHER PRINTER!
Useless. Sucks up ink with no rhyme or reason. Disables printer if one ink cartridge is out of ink. Overall a PoS.
DO NOT buy this printer! This is a piece of junk. I have NEVER been able to get it to copy either from the feeder or from the glass. The LED is tiny and almost impossible to see. Any photo paper I load gets jammed inside. I don't know why Brother is even still selling these lemons!
Take out a mortgage before you buy cartridges. Even though the Supreme Court decided that consumers were entitled to use third party ink cartridges, Brother figures no one will both filing a class action suit. So be prepared for the fact that you will pay $150 for this printer, but the cartridges are going to set you back $75 every time. If you can even trust the computer when it tells you you are low on ink. (Hint: you can't. How to return printer when purchased online? Says there is a paper jam when there is none. There is no way to fix. Lasted only 6 months.
