Printer stop working as soon as one of your ink goes below 90% full The printer works fine if all ink cartridges are full. But as soon as any one of them goes below 90% full it stops working and wouldn't print unless you buy a new cartridge and replace the other cartridge that is still full. Anyways, at some point you just realize that it's cheaper to buy a proper printer over keep buying ink and waste it.
Worst piece of technology I have ever owned If you want a functional printer, look elsewhere. If you want hours of frustration, this is the printer for you. Absolutely the worst piece of technology I have ever owned. I will never purchase another Brother product again. Hours and hours of frustration.
Doesn’t work anymore. Purchased it in November 2019 and I’ve used it lightly since then. A couple months ago it just stopped recognizing its ink cartridges and won’t work anymore. I have to get a new one now. I don’t recommend it.
NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS PRINTER! I traded my hp printer in for this one thinking it was a better quality printer with better support! I was completely wrong, not only is it not as good at printing as HP but the ink is extremely hard to find I've been to 3 stores and can't find the ink. Very disappointed!

Don't waste your money This thing is NOT at all flexible with printing options. Prints nice when it allows you. Once a color cartridge is empty you can NOT print in black n white. Plus, you can NOT shut off the print head cleaner feature and since this is not optional - your ink wells get used continuously and are thus are quickly drained! Leaving you unable to print - EVEN in black n white. Horrible technology design!!
Not Very Good I have been using this printer for about 20 months. Having replaced my model MFC-J425DW with it, I was expecting this new printer to be as good or better than my previous one, which I loved! Well. I was wrong! Slow; won't scan if ink is empty Cannot recommend. I was moderately satisfied at first. It seems reliable. The printer quality is good. But it is so slow. Much slower than the cheap printer we replaced. But it was sufficient for my home office. Until today when I learned it will not scan and email documents if any of the ink is empty. I was annoyed when it wouldn't print in black and white because it was out of yellow but this has pushed me over the edge with the stupidity. Buy something else.
FUNCTIONAL OBSELESCENCE TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL lots of people saying it, but i bought brother because i have been using their products for a decade, but this thing is an actual scam product! The machine sucks ink whether you are printing... OR NOT - then, it will not print, even in black and white, if you run low on a color toner. This is a scam AVOID THIS SCAM
