Installation challenges for elderly Purchased as a gift for my elderly in-laws who live out of state. Was unable to walk them through installing the printer remotely primarily due to challenges navigating the display screen and controls. Had to pay for local tech support person to go to their home.
A total nightmare I spent more than two agonizing hours with a Brother Support technician trying to install this monster. Over the years I've had Canon and Hewlett Packard printers that were also very problematic. When will printer manufacturers stop trying to perform minor miracles with all sorts of functions that ultimately cause major problems and breakdowns?
GOOD PRINTER Bought this because reviews said it would print if color ink was out. Doesn't, so not happy. Just wanted the option of a color printed page if I needed one - did not use color ONE TIME and ink is out in yellow and others to follow. Won't print, give me options to do it grey-scale but can't find it to check that option! Oh well. Order another EXPENSIVE batch of color refills so I can print my black stuff. Junk Printer This printer is junk. It broke after printing only 2 times. Do not buy!!
Do NOT buy this printer: Nothing but trouble! Printer thought it was jammed. Although it was not jammed, it got stuck in this mode. Support sent me a refurbish replacement. This one never did print. It could not see the 3 different genuine Brother black ink cartrideges that I put in. Both printers were useless. Thisis the last Brother product I will ever make the mistake of buying.
Jams all the time This is one of the most frustrating printers I've ever dealt with. It jams every other print job. I may go Office Space on it. I do not recommend.

copy Dont like how you have to set up to copy..
Very disappointing Got unit set up, but, after only printing 2 sheets, it quit. Kept saying there was a "paper jam", but (even though there wasn't one), could get it to clear. Returning it was no problem, though.
