Brother disappoints Bought an expensive Brother all in one because I was sick of ink costs and was told the better quality the printer the cheaper the ink. That might be the case but the scanner doesn't nor has it EVER worked. The wifi function doesn't work half the time. Can't print out of websites unless I copy and paste them to word first. Told me it was out of the color ink, went to Costco, and they said it is still half full. So had to fool the printer to stop giving me that error, because it won't let you print a damn ... read more
Doesn't pair to Chromebook The most inconvenient part of this printer is that it doesn't pair to my Chromebook. It took far too long trying to unsuccessfully get the drivers for this to work to find out I can use Wi-fi direct, which does work. However, it prints so slow, that wasting all of that time has been quite annoying. I had to print out several pages to bring in to work only to find it took so long, I ditched it after a half-hour (It still wasn't finished). It was about 30-40 pages. beware when removing ink cartridge We just removed the black cartridge as it said low and as I was removing it black ink got on my carpet and now my new light grey carpet is ruined with several black ink spots. I have spent the last hour trying to remove the ink spots. II have never have had a printer when replacing the ink that the ink just came out! For the reason alone I would not rate this product well.
Do not purchase this printer Absolutely the worse printer out there. Does not load paper, continuous issues
That it works with my computer. The product description fails to say that this printer is not compatible with windows xp professional.
Cannot use 3rd party ink A decent printer, but the ink does not last very long and is expensive to replace. It is designed to not detect 3rd part inks and Brother ink cartridges are very expensive. My next printer will definitely NOT be a Brother.
It does enough not to fail I bought this items, as I need printing, scanning, and copying capabilities. This printer can do all of these things, but it kills me how slow this printer is. The details page says 12 ppm max for the output speed, but it rarely hits this. The printer feels cheap, has a lot of movement, and is really loud. The screen on the printer has a distortion line through it, that randomly appeared after a week. If you are strapped for cash and just printing homework, then sure get this. Do not buy this ink sucking printer I had a similar brother printer that I loved. It worked for many years, replacement ink was cheap, generic ink was available. I thought this one would be similar.... but brother has decided they don’t want to make great printers... they just want to sell ink. If any ink cartridge runs low on ink, the printer won’t print anything... magenta runs out... too bad you can’t even print all black.
