    DO NOT buy! INKvestment printer uses ink even when not printing! I purchased this printer 18 months ago and use it more for scanning instead of printing. I was surprised that with the minimal printing I've done, I am now unable to use the printer to print. There is a message on the LCD screen which indicates that the ink needs to be replaced. I called Brother's customer service and was told that the printer has a REGULAR 'clean' cycle to avoid any ink clogging. Believe it or not, this 'clean cycle' actually uses ink when it ... read more

    Good quality printing - when it works Running vanilla Windows 10. I've had to uninstall and re-install the brother software at least three times since I bought this. Every couple of months it just stops working. Network diagnostics (not too shabby) say it's fine. But I simply ignores the computer's requests to print stuff.

    Didn't last 10 months before printing failed. I purchased this printer in October of 2018 for a small health clinic. It worked well for the first 10 months with moderate use 5 days a week.... but then all of a sudden the ink and print quality got terrible. Hours and hours spent on self maintenance checks, with support, and even hired a repair man - in addition to about $150 worth of ink cartridges to run all the self maintenance checks.     BE AWARE - SOFTWARE POOR We bought two of these printers. They print pretty good. The software sucks big time. The ControlCenter4 software doesn't recognize one of the printers. ControlCenter4 often loses scanning connection to the printer. AND after installing the Full Printer Pkg on 10 machines successfully (some more than one to fix the scanner problems) I tried to install on a new Windows 10 machine.     WORST PRINTER--WORST SUPPORT EVER!!! We ordered this printer for my mother in 2018. We also included the Asurion warranty. It worked great right out of the box until they offered a software update. Once we did the recommended software update, we had nothing but trouble. We contacted the company and got suggestions to fix it, but none worked. Mind you, we have software engineers in the family who could not fix the problem.     The ink cartridges are very expensive This printer is fine for printing documents. The problems are that it's huge. I wasn't aware that it would take up so much space. Next, it makes terrible color prints. I have tried many settings. I got it right once, only to have it malfunction the next time, and I have never gotten it right since. The other thing is that the cartridges are very expensive, and don't last that long, especially when I am wasting so much ink trying to print a decent photo

    Do NOT buy this printer I have now gone through 3 of the same models. Yes, Brother replaced them, but the same problem happened each time with the replacement. This product is poorly engineered. Further, its color print quality is marginal.

    Worst machine I've ever owned. Won't connect to my computer for scanning,etc. Claims a paper jam when there isn't one. On and on and on......
