NOT MY FAVORITE I have used this printer primarily for office work. Today we were going to copy pictures for a church project and I have never seen such a difficult copier to work with for copying pictures. Putting the picture on the glass and copying to the different trays, turned out to be a real challenge. We finally gave up and went to the library and made all our copies. Oh Brother! Buy more ink. Set up will drain provided ink due to "clogged nozzle heads" and repeated cleaning needed to get it to work OUT OF THE BOX. Hmmmmm??? Don't call Brother, they are rude (I saw that in another review but wasn't dissuaded, but now...). If you are considering this machine you really need to understand that there is an issue with it. I purchased a Brother printer because a repair technician told me they had the best Customer Service. That has not been the case at all. Many good features, including economical printing Many good features, including economical printing, and double sided copying, scanning and printing. But overall disappointing and I would not buy again, or recommend that others purchase. The printer needs to be rebooted, often several times a day, when it fails to respond to print or scanning commands. Software, documentation and menus are unfriendly and non-intuitive. As mentioned by others, quite heavy and large footprint.

Don't buy it. This printer is extremely slow, even when printing on "fast" quality. It jams every 2nd or 3rd page when printing large jobs. It is not nearly as ink-efficient as advertised (Magenta cartridge lasted fewer than 300 pages, versus the advertised 1500). When using USB installation, you must frequently reinstall the driver, or else you get an error that the printer is offline every time you try to print or scan something. I will be returning this product.
How lame is that Out of the box it took about 8 cycles of head cleaning to get it printing right, and now I'm getting a warning that the color ink cartridges are due to be replaced. How lame is that, even if the starter ink sets are not full to begin with? On my previous Brother laser printer when the machine said my toner was empty and stopped working, I could reset the notifications and print for months.
