Very Disappointed. I did a lot of research before purchasing this printer for our small business. After using it for many months we are deeply displeased with this printer. The print quality is terrible if you are printing anything other than black text and the ink runs out incredibly fast. Everyone in our office hates this printer and cannot wait until we get a new one. printer drivers and utilities are lousy It took a professional installer 2 hours to get it working on 3 Macs, and twenty minutes after he left, it wasn't working on one of them. Put the laptop to sleep, and it doesn't connect when you wake it up. Wait ten minutes, and THEN it does, but it's too soon to tell if waiting will always do the trick. Large ink streaks and low quality Very disappointed in this printer. There are frequently large ink streaks, vertical lines without ink where there should be ink, and the quality is much lower than stated in the ad. I've only had it for about two months and would return it but see that it says my "return window" has closed. I should be able to return it since I haven't used it that much.
Can't print "3 on a page" laser checks If this turns out to be incorrect, I'll gladly revise my rating, but for now not even tech support can figure out how to do this. The problem is that the checks are letter sized 8.5X11" and they can only be fed in landscape mode which is fine if you are printing from a full sheet, but if you want to print on a sheet that only has one or two left on it, then it won't work. Will NOT print even in black and white if it's out of any color! I will NEVER recommend a Brother printer. It will NOT print at all, even in just black, if one of the color cartridges is empty. It will NOT print at all if you use a non-Brother cartridge. The Brother cartridges cost a freaking fortune. Unless you want a constant headache and expense of being stuck buying manufacturer's cartridges, DO NOT buy any Brother printer. I know I will never buy another one!
If it wasn't as large as a truck I'd send it back... As for printing this printer is amazing... but it keeps disconnecting itself from my computer which then I have to call in and go thru all these steps for them to tell me it's not connected! And then help me get reconnected and each time it's a different process... I agree with all negative reviews only worked for a 2 months, then problems over and over again...Poor quality printing. Kept cleaning nozzles to get better results...called manufacturer, suggested how to clean but the same results (poor printing) Had square trade gave me 270 dollars... so I'm out 77 dollars plus 64 dollars for unused ink.. Maybe I got a lemon. I think I will try the new Epson ecotank. At least Epson refill ink bottles is less than Brothers inkvestment cartridges.
Mixed Bag, Hope the Cheaper Ink Makes the Downside Worth It!! Prints A4 and legal fine, scans ok, but refuses to print envelopes. Currently on the fritz thinking there's no paper in tray 1 when it's actually full but will print if 'resume printing' is chosen, annoying if printing several different files instead of one multi-page file. Went to Brother website for support and can't find what I need, the phone number under 'contact us' is in New Zealand which doesn't help me in North America.
