    Paper feed issues right out of the box Took printer out of box and the machine wouldn't even print a test page without jamming paper. Brother did replace the unit so I'll update once the new one gets here.

    Strange limitations. Finicky problems We got this printer because we scan large format material on the regular and print in a variety of non-standard sizes. So we figured having multiple trays and a large scanner bed was just the thing. Unfortunately the software running this computer is so problematic that we would have been better off getting a separate printer and scanner and dealing with that. You can scan an 11.7 x 16.5 item, and a 11 x 17 in item, but NOT a 11.7 x 17 in item. WHY? And you cannot print anything unless t... read more

    The Worst Printer Available at this Price Point The Firmware seems to be designed for a European audience. For example, standard US envelope sizes (#9, #10, etc.) are not available as a menu option, you must select from a European selection of whatever is close to what you are using. This worked initially (although the product was a bit off), but now the printer believes it is incompatible with Word who is trying to print a #9 envelope when the printer is set to a DL Envelope.     So far not a great experiance If you print double side with pictures, graphics the ink doesn't dry fast enough and it jams the printer almost everytime. The day I put in the second set of ink the printhead went bad... 2 hours on the phone with tech support they decided to send me a new printer, in a few days I had the new printer. It wouldn't print all the colors, after four hours of tech support and tons of times cleaning printheads and going through two complete sets of all the color ink I had no more ink to run a test pag... read more

    Nightmare after 4 months of back and forth with brother we still can not get the color correct. I have 3 other printers in the office and they all printer the same correct color even a $80 printer however the brother printer prints dull. Brother did send me a new printer which done the same thing. So now i have 2 useless printers...........

    Printer stopped working after support window closed. Printer stopped working after support window closed. Convenient. I have bought several printers from Brother at different locations (Costco, Amazon, etc.) for business and personal use. This printer was reviewed well around the internet, and it lived up to those reviews for several months. That's all gone now. I have a printer that jams like it's going out of style.     Defective Equipment Magenta and yellow will not print despite numerous attempts to clear the system. All printout are in blue and black. After several alignment and printhead checks, the blue and yellow cartridges were exhausted, however, the Magenta cartridge shown half-full.

    lots of issues This printer has an internal "ink absorber pad" that fills up when the machine has to be cleaned due to clogged print head nozzles. Well the print head nozzles have to be cleaned constantly on this machine, several times a week and often 2-3 times in one day. So basically after having this machine for a little over a year it WITH NO WARNING now says ink absorber pad is full and wont print ANYTHING. I just got off the phone with brother and it appears that the only option is to have a technician replace the pad... read more

    Poor print quality The print quality from this inkjet is awful. It cannot print anywhere close to true color. You won't want to print photographs, graphic images, or even clip art and have confidence that it will look right. I have called Brother multiple times to get assistance. They started by suggesting that we use the original ink up or replace it with new Brother ink in order to see an improvement in quality. Being frugal, I waited until the original was used up to replace with new Brother ink. It didn't get any better.... read more
