Disappointed The printer worked well for six months; however, then it began displaying a message indicating that there was a paper jam when there was no jam. The few times that I was able to get the printer to print was followed by the printer randomly entering a head cleaning operation, telling me an ink cartridge needed replaced when it didn't, or displaying the paper jam message again. Not my Favorite Terrible! This thing has been nothing but a headache. It’s been 3 months past the 1 year warranty and now it won’t work. I bought replacement ink and it says they are empty when they are brand new? Huh? Won’t print if it thinks everything is empty. The ink on the photos faded in 5 months. Very lame compared to other printer/ink combos I’ve used. The interface and overall feel of the printer is clunky and feels like I’m back in the 90’s. ink hog when not used.` I have for a year. Color cartridges go dry when when not used. requires new ink continually!
If you don't want it, you have to pay return postage! Probably a great printer. But I got angry (not a good idea to order something when angry. My bad) with my present printer, and ordered this one. Then my present printer started working. So I decided to keep it and return this one. When I did so, I had to pay return postage ($40.+). Moral of this story, don't buy this level of electronics from third party Amazon vendors unless you are sure you won't return it!
Stopped Working Worked fine for about 8 months and now it's refusing to print anything. It gives me an error that it can't detect the yellow cartridge. I removed it and replaced it several times. Nothing works.
Some Brothers are Junk Didn't work and Brother Tech support could not figure out why.
Does not even begin to print an envelope I have tried so many times to print a simple #10 envelope using their instructions, and nada, zip, zero for results. You will not find any on-line assistance for this feature. If you plan on printing any type of envelope, you may want to look for another inexpensive printer. This is not the one for printing any type of envelope.
Uses ink fast On default settings the ink will be used up on the black cartridge in a month with regular printing. Ink cartridges are expensive and the knock offs routinely error out. Not worth the buy if you do printing on a regular basis. I ran out of ink again and after buying ink twice I am getting rid of the printer for a laserjet.
Get what you pay for Seemed to work ok for about 6 months. Now it always acts as if paper is stuck when it is not. Hard to print anything at all. Parts feel very flimsy. Already looking for replacement.
