Slow and cheap I have had this printer for about 6 months now. From the beginning it printed much slower than my last printer (an HP printer) and I noted that it just seemed like much cheaper construction. Now I am having problems with it "detecting" a paper jam when there is no paper jammed in the machine. Overall, not very happy with the quality and operation of this printer. Next time, I will go back to an HP or Epson.
Worked for 5 frustrating months Had to disconnect and reconnect every time I needed to print then after 5 months it stops printing because even though the printer recognized new ink cartridges, it was not communicating that to the computer, so it would not even attempt to print. Yes they were Brother's brand ink cartridges, didn't not get a refund on the $70 in full ink cartridges either.

This is not simple to set up nor operate. Confusing to set up. Had to call in help and still could not get to connect wirelessly. I bought this more expensive machine for that purpose. I had my previous Brothers for about 10 years and loved it. I then went to the Brothers site to buy ink to have on hand. Out of stock on all that I needed.
Already Defective I purchased this item on May 31, 2020, less than three months of having the printer; it's already giving me issues when printing. When it prints in color, especially in black ink, it creates a blank line and doesn't complete my print on that line. I want to request a return and receive another printer of the same model or one higher. I hope someone can help me!!!
struggles with wireless Every time I want to print I get nervous that it won't. It's 2020. There should be be an issue adding new computers in the home to print to this printer. Did the testers not think about more then one home device wanting to print? Honestly I will never buy a Brother printer again. Any quality printer can copy/print, but the feature of connecting to a Brother printer is where the software dev team fell short. Sad. Nothing wrong with the print quality. It your computer can talk to the printer.
No ink cartridge included! Shipping took extremely long, and No ink cartridge included!
Don’t buy! Scam! I rarely use color, only black ink. It will stop printing when you run low on color though all I want is black. Will not print though I have it set on black only & have a full black cartridge. It says it must have color to print!! Don’t buy!!
Cannot print black without using color ink I have used Brother printers for probably decades and always been happy with them. However, we have entered the era where you cannot print in black unless you have YELLOW ink and BLUE ink and MAGENTA ink. There is NO reason on this earth to need these colors to print in black.
