This printer runs even when it is off This printer cleans its head even when you have it turned off. So, the only way to truly turn it off is to pull the plug.
Maybe was sold a return printer. Because of packaging. The product came without full package only the bottom part of the foam came, top did not have. When I connected it fail to initialize. I being waiting for several months to get the product because was unavailable and still no printer for me. Brother want me to return to get fixed but I refuse since I just got it. Now I need to wait until available again. Bummer
Started out great - then just died I bought this item in February 2020 based on good reviews. I was happy for the first 6 months until I started getting error messages about the unit being jammed. I went online followed all the self-help instructions to fix/reset unit but not only did I not find anything jammed in it, nothing worked as far as getting it running again. Only lasted ONE year! I'm really a little miffed. I bought this in July of 2019. It's now September 2020, and the thing has gone toes up. And this sucker was EXPENSIVE too. Will never buy a Brother again. I'll stick with a major brand. Until a couple of weeks ago, this one worked okay, but now, no. I have to buy a new one, and for what I paid for this one, I really thought it would last a whole lot longer than a year!
Started messing up less than a year SO I have had this for just under a year. About a month ago it started to not recognize ink ilevels correctly. It will say theres no ink and to chnge cartridge when it is still almost full. I have done all the troubleshooting and still the case. It is constantly getting "jams" now as well. And the printing is coming out distorted. Yes, I have done all the maintenance on it that is suppose to fix it. Loved this printer when it worked well. If you like Troubleshooting Errors This one is for you Need to get something printed in a hurry, Need to scan documents to send to someone. Don't get this unless you have additional time to search for paper that is not jammed. It was a sign when I first purchased it and installed the ink that came with it, that it kept stating the ink was empty. Junk This printer lasted only 5 months. Never even used up the trial ink cartridges and it no longer worked. Called Brother manufacture and they were no help.
Horrible software, very unreliable device This printer constantly has problems being connected to. We've run it via ethernet and wifi - neither are reliable. It requires frequent power cycles to operate. It is also extremely aggravating to deal with when colored ink cartridges are low - when trying to print black & white only, error messages continue to disrupt printing. The scanning software is also useless and entirely unreliable. Complete trash.
Constantly states paper jam....no paper ever actually jammed. Poor quality....flimsy. Every other print job it states paper jam. (Not jam anywhere). Have to clear jam thru program each time. Would not purchase again!
