Difficult install Way way too difficult to install. Had I known, I would have sent it back. While it prints nicely, every other function is not easy

Runs out of ink quickly and replacements are expensive This printer works fine but it is not an inexpensive printer when you have to replace ink as frequently as you do with this one. Plus, the replacement ink is expensive! If one of the colors runs out, all others stop working (so, if the yellow runs out but there's plenty of black, blue and magenta, the printer just stops until you replace them all). Printopia! Does what it’s supposed to, Print when I need stuff printed . It’s on all the time , prints from my iPhone , iPad, iMac ...
Started off very positive I didn't realize that the scanner didn't do both sides–if you scan a lot of double-sided material forget this printer. Initially it printed well, the wireless worked well, and it seemed fine. Now a couple months later it seems to have trouble recognizing print cartridges and connecting to the computer. I think I'll go back to Canon from now on.
cheap plastic Just taking it out of the box, it looked cheap. The touch screen was tiny and the paper tray flimsy. It printed acceptably for the first few days, but then the paper tray came apart. Plastic tabs looked like they could easily snap if not aligned perfectly in assembly. After an hour of trying to put it back together it continues to stay unseated. I haven't contacted Brothers' customer service but quality doesn't seem to be a Brothers concern.
Constantly goes off-line This printer was easy to install via wi-fi, but it constantly goes off-line when not in-use. I have to do a reset, off/on, to get it to start printing. Printer was returned to Amazon for refund.
The software is garbage I have no idea why anyone would give this printer a good review. I have a fairly new computer and my old printers software was no longer supported so I got this. I will never buy another Brother printer. I have had it for over 6 months. Have deleted and reinstalled the software countless times. Have never gotten it to print a photo and it won't stay connected wirelessly. Every time I go to use it I have to turn it off and back on so that the computer can detect it. Few issues Was excited to have my new printer. Touch screen doesn't seem to work as well as I had hoped, will probably be tinkering with it longer thank I had hoped. Called for support, but after their hours. Still have some hope. If it gets better I will change my review. Was able to print a couple pictures at first through a memory card. My android phone will not connect through USB cord, still can't connect yet through bluetooth/ wireless (any) connections.
