Finally a Printer that Works!!! After purchasing a Pixma (sent back) and an HP "pro" 8025 which led me to spend HOURS researching on my own and then more HOURS with Tech Support to try to get it to work via USB (!) --what can be easier, you would think -- or any other way, I sent that f-ing thing back as well. If it weren't for the money, I would have gladly taken an ax to it! Well, finally, I got this Brother. Do Not Buy The black ink that came with printer lasted for less than 100 pages so purchased more black ink. Never printed any color pages and the printer locked up saying all color ink cartridges were empty and would not allow black only printing. Only way it prints cover stock 65 lb paper is as a photo so extremely slow (not noted in product description). Purchased this model based on reviews it was good home printer for printing cover stock paper. Even for a low cost product it is still a waste of money.
Empty ink Cartridges Yellow ink cartridge was almost empty. I was able to print three short pages. I think if you are going to send ink cartridges why not send them full. The remaining ones are very low.
Don't recommend this printer I only printed in color once since I purchased. 3 months later the printer is already out of Yellow cart ink. The printer will not print even if just black and white is needed.
Makes you by colored ink for black and white prints The print quality for work was decent, I mainly use black and white to print documents. However, even though I was printing black and white I noticed that my colored ink was going down. I bought this printer because it was advertised that we can print in black and white without having to replace the colored ink. Highly rated on consumer reports for good reason. Photos come out very nice, you just have to tell it on the touch screen every single time you change the paper inside. Regular printing is quick. Scanning comes out nicely. Software is not needed. A few important tips: - There are two pieces of blue tape on back, one on front to remove. - Need to provide your own USB cable. A major rip off! This printer is the worst! It literally lasted one week!
Printing is random Shuts down, powers off and then you have to manually restart. Have disable auto off, still sleeps. Will also print hours after files sent. Waste of money
Brother MFC-895DW sucks The worst Brother printer Ive ever own Brother support sucks that's if you can get through on the telephone then you you wont be able to understand them because English so poor. I got nowhere until I called Amazon and threatened to toss the dam printer in the ditch and buy something else from Best Buy or WALMART It now works but the quality of print and color is so poor it hurts the eyes
