Awkward photo paper loading One of the reviews favorably commented on the rear paper tray. the mfc j895dw does not have one. In addition, mine does not have a photo bypass tray. You must take the letter paper out, adjust the settings and then insert the photo paper. Even my cheap Canon I have elsewhere has easier photo paper loading.
Ease of use- NOT THIS PRODUCT! Instructions were not easy to understand and information was not all their.
Don't buy this printer Do not buy this printer. after a year or so you will get a ink pad full error. the only way to work around is to buy a new printer or have a Brother technician come out and fix it. It will stop printing until this error is fixed. Buy another model.
Plastic parts started breaking right away. I bought it less than a year ago. At first it was fine, though a bit noisy. The first thing that went wrong was that after a paper jam it was no longer able to do duplex printing. OK, I can deal with that. Then the little flap that catches the pages as they emerge from the printer broke off and I had to hack a cardstock replacement. The final straw was when the door of the ink compartment broke and the printer refused to print because the door was open. I give up on this printer.
Amazon Rips Buyers OFF! Bought this printer for $99.99, plus the extended warranty, and it was defective right out of the box, very poor print quality. even tried putting in a whole new set of printer cartridges that cost me an additional $60 and it didn't help. Very disappointed in this Brother product, so I returned it and they only refunded me $89 of the $160 that it cost me. They have no class!
zero if I could give negative stars i would this would never connect to the wireless and didn't come with a cord to connect to my computer and wasn't a usual usb book up so I could never use it. After all the work trying to connect it and get it started. It didn't come with ink installed I spend hours trying to use this printer, and it caused my computer to have a meltdown. If I could give negative stars I would.
Paper Jams ALL THE TIME My product is a lemon. It will print only one page before the paper jams.
Print quality below standard Using factory recommended ink cartridges this printer requires head cleaning every10 to 20 pages. This has been a problem since the second set of ink cartridges. I can't speculate as to what the reason is and I received no help from Brother. I bought a Brother monochrome laser printer to reduce the usage of this printer and at least get me through routine document printing jobs, but this printer is failing too albeit in a different way. I'll just have to return to HP printers which have served me... read more
Will Gauge You on Ink Even Worse Than Normal! I have a very similar model Brother printer to this one (another J-one), and my god is it terrible when it comes to ink. I'll do some basic color printing, well less than 50 sheets, and one of the color cartridges will get low. You'd think the printer would let me print with low ink, and at worst I'd get an image with slightly less (say) yellow than it's supposed to have. Nope: this piece of trash printer will ignore the perfectly good ink siting in the cartridge the moment it go... read more
