This machine is extremely difficult to install When I was installing it, I decided to get the latest drivers, and the machine did not install correctly. Yesterday I spent two hours in Live Chat getting help doing it. It seemed to require 4-5 downloads, seemed to go in circles, wanted me to allow my data to be sent to Brother, but would not let me opt out. without just shutting down. Don't know how it is as a printer / scanner yet
The printer is ok but... I should have checked but apparently you can't print from Alexa to the Brothers printer.
It burned my desk! The printer started smoking as soon as I turned it on and it stained my desk. Never used to print anything because I couldn't get it to work. The return was a nightmare! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY THIS!!
The worst printer you'll ever buy Who cares if it is plug and play when it is the worst printer on the planet. What a complete joke and rip off. 1 year ago this was a $250 item, THERE IS A REASON THEY ARE BLOWING THEM OUT FOR $99. THEY SUCK. difficult to set up the printer wouldn't recognize my computer. finally I realized that my computer would recognize the printer, so that's how I'm printing. I would like to be able to manually attach the computer to the printer with a cable as a fall back - but that doesn't work. I have found if the blue tooth connection fails turning the printer off and then on will resolve the problem.
I can’t recommend this printer. The printer would not allow me to continue initial set up after installing the ink cartridges. It kept showing an error message to reinstall the black ink cartridge. After “chatting” online with Brother customer service, they weren’t able to figure out why it wouldn’t set up and suggested I box it back up and return it. Which I did.

Poor printer and poor customer service experience This printer was defective. It failed to print envelopes properly. My real issue, however, is with Brother customer service. After failing to diagnose the issue they insisted that the problem was with Microsoft Word and that my defective printer was not eligible for exchange. They simply refused to honor their warranty. Very poor customer service. I will not purchase from them in the future.
Will not detect new Brother cartridges The printer was fine until cartridges needed to be replaced. I ordered the official Brother cartridges for this machine, but continue to get the "Cannot detect" message. I've done all the manual and online suggested solutions, but nothing works. Not I have a fairly new machine and brand new cartridges -- all of NO USE to me! I've tried to contact Brother directly, but cannot find a telephone number, and they have not responded to online questions. Very disappointed.
