What we like the most about the community is the staff, cost and small size. Yes, we would recommend Mustang Creek Estates Allen to other families based on the experience so far.
I absolutely love mustang Creek it's a five for me I love everyone of the staff members and the kindness and care they gave to my mother. She very well may be returning in the future but we have to give it a go on her living with myself and my husband. She misses it too and I told her if she ever wants to go back we would make that happen I wouldn't have her go anywhere else. I fell in love with the facility the first time I drove up. My mom is very happy there and feels very safe . She has complained about the food being terrible and that it is always cold whether it is breakfast lunch or dinner . Cottage six is very quiet and so she is a little lonely but the activities help so that she can do some socializing with others . [name removed] is our very favorite aid and makes a point of stopping in to say hello whenever she is there ., we also found [name removed] to be quite helpful and easy to talk to about everything and anything you want to talk about ... read more
My husband did not participate since he got hurt on the first week I moved him. I think they need more help for the house my husband was in. Particularly on weekends. They are not able to provide sufficient care to their residence. Some of their employees do not know how to care for the residence or afraid to take care of them. I tried to help a lot to take care of my husband since I was there all the time. I made sure he is taken care of. I have real issue on how they manage the medications. Most of the staff do a good job, especially the weekday staff. The weekend staff seems to fluctuate and is not always as good. The director is very responsive. Food- they frequently do not have the food supplies to make the meals listed on their menu. And the staff making the meals, depending on the person, don't want to take the time needed to make a good healthy meal. The food is terrible and the kitchen is always dirty. Staff needs to be cleaning in idle time. Seems that most of the time there is no staff present in the home unless it's meal time. However, the staff is courteous and helpful when needed. Activities are good and residents seem to like this.
Very nice place, staff is great a little pricey for anyone who is confined to a bed and unable to participate in activities and the staff is very short handed on the weekends especially Sunday. Overall the staff has been very thoughtful and helpful. I would recommend this place

Families have to stay on top of staff to make sure they do what you expect them to do. Timing and delivery of meds not always on target. Most of the staff were caring, but we did witness the opposite more than once.
