There's a lot of staff turnover and no night staff to help. The short staff have too many people to help so patients have to wait their turn if need assistance.
I had my mom at Mustang Creek several years ago and moved my dad and stepmom there the middle of 2025. Moving my parents to an assisted care facility is very hard. My family and I are extremely happy with the choice we made in moving them to Mustang Creek. My Dad presented many challenges at the beginning and not the nicest person to deal with. The staff has always been very friendly, caring, and accommodating. My dad has now pasted, and my stepmom is in the memory care unit, stage 7 Alzheimer's. Hospice takes great care of ... read more

What we like the most about the community is the staff, cost and small size. Yes, we would recommend Mustang Creek Estates Allen to other families based on the experience so far.

I absolutely love mustang Creek it's a five for me I love everyone of the staff members and the kindness and care they gave to my mother. She very well may be returning in the future but we have to give it a go on her living with myself and my husband. She misses it too and I told her if she ever wants to go back we would make that happen I wouldn't have her go anywhere else. I fell in love with the facility the first time I drove up. My mom is very happy there and feels very safe . She has complained about the food being terrible and that it is always cold whether it is breakfast lunch or dinner . Cottage six is very quiet and so she is a little lonely but the activities help so that she can do some socializing with others . My husband did not participate since he got hurt on the first week I moved him. I think they need more help for the house my husband was in. Particularly on weekends. They are not able to provide sufficient care to their residence. Some of their employees do not know how to care for the residence or afraid to take care of them. I tried to help a lot to take care of my husband since I was there all the time. I made sure he is taken care of. I have real issue on how they manage the medications. Families have to stay on top of staff to make sure they do what you expect them to do. Timing and delivery of meds not always on target. Most of the staff were caring, but we did witness the opposite more than once.
