First off, This review system is off. There should be negative stars available. I had to score a one star when I feel its closer to negative 5. As employees, of companies that do business with Nationwide retirement solutions, we have no choice other than not to participate in saving to the 401k system. If you choose t participate, know this. Apply for loans months ahead of when you may need the funds. Do not trust the emails stating loan approved and disbursement will take 2-3 business days for direct deposit. I cannot begin to properly articulate how much I dislike this carrier. I expressed my frustration to Nationwide and I shall continue to express it to anyone who will listen. Primarily, they take cancellation steps WITHOUT putting any warnings/notifications on their customer website. A customer does not know what is occurring UNLESS the customers agent notifies the customer. I updated my auto payment via Nationwide App and for whatever reason it didn't save. I was charged $60 in fees for payment not going through. Nationwide resolved $30 fee but would not refund remaining $30 for their app not working. I spent 40 minutes on phone with zero help.

I have been an auto policy holder for 29 years. I contacted my agent to add my daughter on my policy. 3 months later I called to add another vehicle. 4 months later I asked again for the vehicle bc it was going to be driven at this point. Insurance cards were issued. Fast forward to my daughter getting run off the road. Police were contacted, showed up, report filed. Called to file claim. No car on policy. No daughter on policy. Deferred Compensation - The process for a loan or withdrawal is frustrating at best! I called and was given one answer by a rep then a month later I called and was given a completely different answer. I then began the process of withdrawing my funds on 1/31 which the claim would take 3-5 days. They did NOT say from what point nor does their website. They collect $70 a month for premium pet insurance and try every trick in the book to not pay claims. They say they will make decisions or payments in 30 days, then send letters three months in a row explaining that they're delayed, and there's nothing you can do about it. Thrice, I submitted an invoice showing both treatment and payment. Nationwide said payment wasn't shown--are they blind--and asked me to follow up not on their website, nor by phone, but by either fax or snail mail. Had a claim for roof damage due to a storm. Started the process in July 2021 and as of January 2022 still have not received payment for the agreed upon damages. First they gave a fraction of the cost of repairs as a settlement, didn't even properly assess damages. That took 5 months (meanwhile the damaged roof has caused leaks inside the house) and then had to fight with them to get a real assessment of damage (our contractor did Nationwide's job by doing the assessment of damage and actually showing up at the property) and ... read more

The slogan nationwide is on your side is false advertising. I was having a rough time with money due to covid. I didnt have enough money in my account to cover my insurance payment. So I got the letter in the mail saying my payment didnt go through. I set up another payment. The website said the payment went though. I thought I was good until I got a letter from the *** stating I had no insurance for 29 days. NYS was going to revoke my CDL license and registration.
