I agree. Nationwide dropped our homeowners policy because of wildfires concerns and gave us almost no notice. The document stating they were dropping us was generated on 5/10 but only got here on 5/25. They are dropping coverage on 6/13.We have paid premiums on time for 20 + years for both auto and home. Never a claim of any kind. I would never recommend them.

I was rear ended by a driver insured by Nationwide in December of 2021 and had the absolute worst experience possible dealing with the claims adjuster and every individual that we dealt with at Nationwide. The Claims adjuster actually told me that she no longer has to speak with me or answer my calls after I answered her question of not requesting any pain and suffering payments. after several calls and finally getting another person and 2-3 weeks the car was finally scheduled to go into the body shop for repairs. at this po... read more

I posted my first and only claim for a pet insurance coverage of 7 months. They automatically denied the claim due to image issues, which was not an issue. I was told to fax in additional documents in hopes I would not continue the claim. This is unacceptable behavior for any stage of coverage but to do it on my first claim was clearly intentional.

They refused a claim on my roof after I had a tarp placed over a leak they had their roofers come out and say that the tarp had ruined my roof and that they weren't responsible but I had another roofing company come and fix the leak and they say the tarp had nothing to do with the leak they fixed the leak and it's been 6 months and no leaks Nationwide just was looking for a way out of not fixing the leak blaming the other company for a storm damage claim I had been with Nationwide for almost 30 years but I left and never goi... read more

One if their agents wrote up my auto policy wrong in March of 2021 and on Thursday someone stole my catalytic converter off of my SUV and Nationwide is telling me that it's going to be **** days before this gets fixed. They are leaving me without a car for that period of time because I am not in the financial position to pay out of pocket for the rental car and now I also have to wait to get my car fixed because I'd have to be reimbursed. Horrible Company. Once they finally paid the claim, they made the check out to a contractor. It is illegal to make a claim check to anyone other than the insured and/or the mortgage company, unless the claim had been legally assigned or transferred, which it wasn't.So after that amateur unprofessional error, then they made the check out to an ***. Emergency Unforeseeable Circumstance request for funds is what this whole thing is about. It is a deferred compensation for retirement account. There are certain circumstances where it applies but they aren't looking t the whole picture. The Emergency circumstance is involving a totaled vehicle from a car crash. I've been with Nationwide since early ****s both home and auto. The problem is the last 5 years both policies have gone up close to 20%. No major claims and I raised my deductibles to offset premium increases. Just paid my auto premium and my rate is going up 16% next month. That's enough!!! Changing to Safeco and will save 20% on both policies with lower deductibles.I guess it costs mucho to pay ***************************.

If I could leave no stars, I would. I had a 401k with Nationwide at a former employer. I asked for a check to be sent to my home for the proceeds of my 401k in January, 2021, and I never received the check. After 14 months of NW not following up with me (no letter, phone call, or email - Ive had the same contact info for 10 years), they claimed to have sent my uncashed check to another company for processing on 3/16/22 and Nationwide reps said they could not help me.
