This company is a complete scam I moved to a cheaper apartment. The new complex uses this company and I have never seen a electric bill this expensive I have called them and they keep telling me that the readings are correct which I find hard to believe when I have had my electric off for over a month now and it’s still high. My bill is over 300.00 and they don’t offer a payment plan or nothing. I need help to get out of this company and be able to go to another one that is cheaper and not a scam

This company is a scam. They don't provide a service they are just a middle man between you and the power company. They charge more than the actual power company does. Why can't I do business directly with AEP?

Business response:

Hi Marie, We genuinely value your input and experience as a resident of a Nationwide Energy Partners (NEP) partner community. Although we appreciate your frustrations at the current cost of electricity, any implication that NEP bills at a rate greater than the host utility’s all-in residential rate is incorrect. NEP is contractually obligated to never charge at a rate exceeding the local utility’s rate for the same usage. In other words, we bill at a rate that is the same or less than what AEP would have charged you for th... read more

This company is charging egregious amounts for their electric in the New Albany Rd corridor. My bill went from $120 this time last year to almost $300 this month for the same usage and this is for a 1 bedroom, 700 sqft apartment. Others in my area with a two bedroom received a bill for $800. Absolutely ridiculous and they should be investigated by the state for scamming and taking advantage of their customers.

I moved into an apartment complex that uses Nationwide Energy Partners LLC, unfortunately the apartment complex only allows this company. I'm regularly being charged $200 or more for my electric bill a month. I live alone and work nearly 12 hr days. My thermastat is never set higher than 68 degrees if it's even set at all. I don't leave anything running while I'm gone. I do my laundry once every 3 weeks. Rarely eat at home to run dishes. Im so busy I don't use my TV or have time to play a game system. Other than my TV the on... read more

This is a scam. A legal scam, but it’s a scam. A family member of mine lives in an apartment complex down the street. They don’t use NEP, they have AEP and have a much bigger apartment than me and pay half of what I pay. I wasn’t here for days and they charged me more than usual by almost $200. Water was like $78 for one person and one bedroom. I barely use water. Their prices are exponentially higher than AEP. They are adding fictitious charges. All these complaints and this scamming company is operating with impunity. I wi... read more

This company charges way too much for electricity. I had never had a problem with electrical companies until my apartment decided to use NEP. One time, I remember making a payment, and then, an hour later, they stole more money from my account without my permission. I had to put a stop pay on my account. This company needs to be shut down.*

I am Honestly shocked that this is legal. We are being charged DOUBLE what we would be charged with any other provider. Two adults that both work full time. We are hardly home and somehow we’re paying over $300 a month for an apartment! This is more than people with whole houses pay.

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Please know that Nationwide Energy Partners (NEP) greatly values your feedback and experience as a resident of an NEP partner community. Electric rates have increased significantly over the past several months. It is important to understand that NEP is contractually obligated to charge at or below the host utility’s residential rate. In other words, the rates you are billed by NEP will always be at or below the rates you would have been charged if you were billed directly... read more

I have lived in my apartment complex for a little over two years now. NEP has always been the energy (electric + water) provider. For context, I live by myself in a single bedroom unit with high ceilings, work a hybrid job, and have pretty “normal” usage of said utilities. With the above being said, during summer months when I have to turn on my a/c, my aggregate energy bill is ALWAYS over $200 a month and in the colder/winter months (no a/c and rarely turn on my heat as I am on the second floor and get good residual heat fr... read more
