When I moved to the neighborhood I first set up appointments for my dogs at Williamsburg Animal Clinic on Grand St, because it is slightly closer to where I live. The place was dirty, small and poorly laid out, and it took forever to check out because the staff was so swamped. Then I found Northside, which is much better. I've been using them for two years for routine checkups and vaccinations for my dogs. Admin staff in my experience has been efficient but very nice. I can get my dogs' records sent anywhere I need, and can ... read more

I don't know if this place deserves five stars because I wasn't offered a cappuccino while waiting and my pug didn't get a pour of distilled water in an artisanal wooden bowl. But I'm giving five stars anyway because my experience was fast, professional, the vet answered all my questions about basic care for my pet in an honest and up front manner. They took consideration that cost was a factor in our care plan, and didn't make me feel bad. Also I walked out with a slew of meds, eye drops, and very helpful pet care info. (Fo... read more

They were great. Very caring, and patient with my cat. It's usually very busy here and the space is small, but I never feel rushed or cramped. They care care about every animal that comes in, and are very personable.

We've been taking our two dogs to this practice for years and have always had good experiences. While it is a small office with a cramped waiting room during busy times, the staff is kind and I've never felt that they don't care, in fact I think they care very much. Re: upselling, I can understand that impression from other reviewers because vet visits can require tough decision making and be emotional. However, I think the staff is trying to provide the clearest picture of your animal's health and trajectory as a city pet,... read more

I would recommend Northside Clinic to anyone with pets in the area. I've tried other and the doctors don't seem to care -- they're more interested in just making a buck. I was able to get a same-day appointment for my older dog who was having some sudden pain and the Doctor took into account that my dog was older and many tests weren't necessary because treatment would be the same regardless. Prices were very reasonable. And the Doctor called and emailed me after the appointment to check up on my dog. I felt like they actu... read more

The staff here is so accommodating and wonderful. Have been bringing my cat, Elliot, here for regular checkups since we moved to NYC and everyone is so helpful and friendly. Dr. Leiman explains everything in thorough (yet understandable) terms and really wants what's best for your pet. I even dropped by unannounced once to ask the vet about meds I could give Elliot while we were traveling and he recommended some great herbal remedies. Dr. Daniel Leiman is the best!

Dr Raud is great- very thoughtful and thorough. He even responded to my emails once I was home and worried about medication side effects on my asthmatic cat. Compared to other vets in the area (I have been to them all) they are low pressure, fairly priced, and friendly. I recommend them.

Just got back from a pretty standard visit here, bordetella vaccine update and a general once over just to make sure everything was in regular working/healthy order with our pup (4 1/2 yr. old Italian Greyhound rescue). On the way back home, I stumbled across the Yelp page for the clinic and was honestly very surprised. We've worked with multiple vets in the area over the years and have not been nearly as pleased as when we ended up here at Northside. They are always incredibly kind, caring, attentive, informative, and (mayb... read more

My dog Obi is extremely difficult at the vet, but the vet I have been taking him to at Northside (Dr. Leiman) for the past year+ is patient, gentle, and came up with great solutions to help reduce Obi's stress levels and fear during visits without sedatives or muzzling (what all other vets have recommended). Since he is so good with Obi, he has been able to better evaluate him, resulting in an overall better outcome for my dog every time we have seen him. For perspective, other vets at other clinics have actually given up ... read more
