This company LIES. We were told that switching to solar we'd only be paying the solar company and not the electric company. WRONG. 50% goes to the electric company, so now im paying double. I would have NEVER agreed to this. Lies and deceit. This is robbery.
They were supposed to come install some kind of line filter because I have interference that Enphase showed me when I opened a ticket with them (Palmetto "customer support" is still atrocious). That was about 3 months ago, we had someone dispatched from Palmetto. That person said they are ordering a part, and they will get in touch to install it. That never happened, big surprise. I have read some of the reviews and I am in the same boat where my inverter is out. No one bothered to call us. It has been down the whole month of September and I have to pay seco a high light bill and still have to make the monthly payment for the panels. No one gets back to you. Its a big run around and you cant reach the warranty company to check the status of the inverter. This is a big scam of a company. It has worked for less than a year and already big red flags.
Palmetto Solar by far has the worse service regarding support. They speak so highly of their product and service, yet they are unable to provide supplemental proof. It's such a disappointment as a business to claim that their product is "Not Guaranteed" to perform. I would strongly recommend to avoid this business for any products/services they advertise. Our process was smooth since it was done through Rocket Solar and we trusted it because our mortgage is with Rocket Mortgage. However we have been having issues with the solar panels and reported it since July and Palmetto Solar doesnt take the issue with the same urgency. We are paying for the solar panles, and paying the power company because Palmetto Solar takes over 2 weeks to answer any ticket, email or call. We spent almost 60k for this system and our roof replacement. It has worked for all of about a year and a half. Now our inverter is out. Customer service was quick to identify and email me letting me know there was a critical fault, but it has been crickets since then. No response from SOLAR EDGE which is apparently the warranty company, I say apparently because you cannot contact them directly you have to go through Palmetto, and they have no information on my system or status of the new inverter and they refuse to give me ... read more
Had a salesmen come in my house, sat on my couch and told me… I would have a $30 power bill, because we would only be using power at night…if we for some reason lost power while sun is producing, we would have power. None of which is true. So we went without power for 4 hours today. All my food still spoiled and my house was at 83 degrees because the sun was shining! Absolutely the worst $40k investment ever! I want this crap off my house! Still waiting on the thermostat promised I’m march also
I am almost convinced I have been scammed. Our system hasn’t been fully functional for more than a month since installation. Several site visits and we have only had them for a little over a year. The last issue required a new part. They had it sent to my house and had a company come out and fix it. I thought all was well. I was just notified that there is another issue with the same part that was replaced. They called to ask me what the part was, if I still have it, who came out, what they did…They set all this up last time... read more
