My experience with my refi was “painful”. It took almost 8 months! My documents were requested multiple times. My closing was schedule three times before completion. They requested permission to pull my credit report a second time. Before I could respond to their request the report was already pulled. When I asked why calls were not returned as promised I was told well we are very busy. If this was not enough I saw my closing documents at Closing....never received them before hand!

I was with PennyMac before the refinance and never had a problem. The service was always great when I called anything I needed was answered quickly and accurately. So I refinanced with PennyMac with out even looking into any other companies. I have several friend who knew I was refinancing now when they ask me about it. I said great do it, just don't use Penny Mac. The communication was terrible. The stuff they told me in the beginning was completely wrong, and fees were added.
The process with PennyMac was straightforward, transparent, and easy to follow. The terms of the loan were very good, and there were no surprises or hidden fees.

We understand that with the Covid situation and staff working from home it was , to say the least, cumbersome. It seems to us that with frequent phone calls questions would have been answered and aggravation reduced and process speeded up. Another source of aggravation was the you change contacts without notice moving form loan officer to processors to closing staff without introduction or notification causing additional confusion. This process stated in August and concluded in Nov!
The whole process went smoothly and everyone that helped us was friendly and professional. I’d definitely recommend Them to a friend.
