The process felt clearly delineated and I was able to get my questions answered promptly. The refinance went according to the timeline I was indicated as well. Overall this experience was positive and I would recommend Penny Mac as a lender.
Overall my my experience exceeded my expectations
Contact person needs to be better educated about finance. Asked me for information that I had already sent. Questioned our cash reserves when we had well over $600,000 in cash in our TDAmeritrade accounts. Need a path around contact person (gatekeeper) to other specialists they may be able to answer my question. When I finally was referred to the escrow department in a couple of minutes that person was able to resolve my issues and we immediately moved forward from that point.
Having people on the same team actually communicate with each other would have made this a million times better. No one was on the same page and paid attention to the notes and requests documented by other people within Penny Mac. Makes it very hard for customer/client to refer anyone to them, would not want anyone to have to go through 3 months of lack of communication like we did.
There was some confusion at times between myself and the Mac Team loan Specialist.
It was very easy.
I do not like doing business using a central e-mail address and a general phone number rather than having the persons who you are dealing with direct e-mail and a direct line or extension. When I sent an e-mail. I really disliked having to call you general phone number for PennyMac and having to go through the computer system and wait forever (1/2 hr or longer) and then get redirected or put back on hold.
