PennyMac made it a very confusing experience, & I almost went elsewhere a couple different x becuz of the lack of communication & being told I was going to be sent this or that document & not getting it. I found out the most information thru the notary during settlement. I had no idea that I'd be getting any $ back AND that I shouldn't be making a mortgage payment this month. I had to talk to a manager at PennyMac after my boss had been contacted at least 10 different x to verify my employment.
being that it was my first time refinancing, I chose to do it with the same bank that held my mortgage. at times I felt there was a delay in the communication. and the final cash to close was almost double of what was initially quoted when I started the process, which almost lead me to cancel the entire process. I have mixed feelings about the entire process.

Extremely difficult to get a hold of agents on the phone
Everything went as it was supposed to and the transation went smoothly.
Overall experience was great. Everyone we talked too was very knowledgeable, awnsered all our questions, and helped us understand the process every step of the way.
