Polaris quality has gone down I had a polaris many years ago when it first came out. It was wonderful, worked perfectly, never any problem; I purchased another one about 6 years ago and had many problems; they changed the size of the hose that vaccums and added some knots in it; it constantly tangles itself and has to be undone. I just purchased another one, and it is somewhat better, so far; but it still gets tangled; the size of the first hose was about 11/2 to 2 inchs and never tangled; also, no knots in hose; they have g... read more

It cleans the pool. This is my third Polaris. They last about 10 years I believe they are grossly over priced If Home Depot or Walmart could sell these I think that they would cost about $200.The Polaris does a good job in the summer when the pool water is warm. In the winter when the feed hose is cold and stiff the little Polaris can’t maneuver too we’ll. . But this is my third one so I must like it.

Pool Cleaner - Polaris 380 We purchased a Polaris 380 to replace a Polaris cleaner that had worn out. It was easy to set up and immediately effective at getting all of the debris out of our pool that had collected. This thing works great and keeps us from having to do any real "cleaning" of the pool.

Fun to watch but ineffective For something that costs as much as this did (I also had to get the booster pump) it does surprisingly little cleaning. The tubing gets wrapped up which limits the area it can cover. Also, the connections keep coming apart. Even when everything works it does not pick up much on the pool floor; it just moves around moving sediment around with its fun-to-watch tail.

Proven Design This the second Polaris 380 that I've purchased at my existing home. When I purchased this house in 1906 with a pool, there was a Polaris vacuum included, that worked but not very well, I had work done on it and it lasted another year or two. The next one I bought was a 380 and it lasted at least a dozen years with minimal repairs. This year 2020, it was performing very poorly and appeared be completely worn-out, so I purchased a new 380 and it's working like I expected. Although the 380 is an old design and I ... read more

Falling apart I replaced a Polaris 380 with this 2nd Polaris 380 (on 8/19/2018)....why? I am asking myself that question. Right on the painful mark (just after the warranty expired) this thing started falling apart. Actually, it had gotten pretty useless about 6 months ago. It would just stop moving and stay in one place all day, everyday, day in, day out, same thing. I have probably paid my pool tech at least $400 rebuilding this piece of junk. I just got it back from his shop again today 9/11/2020. I would imagine it will ... read more

Great product - Terrible vendor The Polaris 380 is an incredible product. Had one for 16 years. Ordered a new one from a third party seller after it just wore out and became brittle. Had a small issue I felt I could fix but the seller would not contact me or Amazon after numerous attempts. The small issue became a major headache. Recommend the Polaris 380 but not the seller.

Great product, terrible to non-existence service from the manufacturer. Product works great, but service from manufacturer is terrible. The first Polaris 380 I owned lasted 13 years. It was very difficult to reach the manufacturer to ask questions on trying to fix it. Their so-called manual does not have any details on the operating mechanism or troubleshooting. The manufacturer does not have any service centers so I had to bring it to local pool stores that claimed to have the ability to service it....they didn't. So, don't... read more
