A Pool Sweep that is As Good as it Gets! This pool sweep was used to replace my previous unit which was the same model. The old one, which had been neglected and abused by a tenant could have been re-built but the expense approached the cost of a new unit. This model relies on a booster pump, which I already had, and does a terrific job of removing trash, leaves, sand, acorns, etc. that have settled to the bottom of the pool. It also climbs the sides of the pool and the steps. I had a lot of debris in my pool since my old Po... read more

Great Customer Service We bought this unit to replace a 10 year old unit. It ran well until a few weeks ago, then the power train would not run. My husband contacted Polaris since the unit is still under warranty. Polaris gave my husband contact information of a local pool service company. The pool service technician dropped by and confirmed the problem, but could not diagnose the issue - he has not seen this issue before. When we did not hear from the pool service technician again, my husband did some research on line and t... read more

Ok for normal pool with no odd shapes or steps All these type cleaners are about the same. Overall they clean well as long as there are no large objects in the water and there are no steps or odd shape designs. I have tried everything to relieve it getting stuck on the steps. But it spends a good 50 percent of the time stuck on the steps. I thought that the three wheel configuration would do a better job not getting stuck than the four wheel. But it gets stuck just as much if not more. It has only one jet in the back that is... read more

the Polaris 380 is an excellent pool cleaner and I hope to live until I ... I have had three Polaris 380s over the last 20 years. They are simple, repairable, durable and effective pool cleaners that seem to last almost 10 years with only minor maintenance. They are not inexpensive but what is? I got into trouble with my most recent one by inadvertently installing its "back up valve" backwards. No pictures in the instruction sheets showed which way to install it. When installed backwards, it constantly shoots a jet of water ... read more

Good on the whole, but could use a bit better scouring action. Easily installed to replace old cleaner. Very agile so covers whole pool bottom as well as sides. So far, it's handled our rather large and plentiful leaves fairly well. Light weight, so much easier to lift out of the pool than our old system. Bag is exceptionally easy to remove and empty.Only negative (after about a month or two of use) is that the tail doesn't seem to actually rub against the bottom and therefore brush fresh algae as well as previous cleaner. Love this Vaccum... 1st one I had for 10 years! I have had a polaris now for ten years and mine finally died. So I purchased another one same model. They have upgraded it a little as now there is a filter in the line from the pool return other than that its exactly the same. Since I had such good service from my old one I see no reason to switch to something else. It picks up the debris and dirt in the pool in just a few hours works great for me. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Clean pool! I have used the Polaris for 8 years now. I have had to replace it now but I use it nearly 24/7 in season. It keeps the pool very clean and is so easy to plug in and go. Replacement parts are easy to come by which keeps it going longer. Easy emptying of bag, this newer version Polaris uses a zipper on the bag instead of Velcro which I now prefer. Good suction and efficient way to clean in ground pools.

What Next? I had the in-floor pop ups. Worked well when it was working. But eventually failed. I spoke with pool guys and most of them said they work ok until they break down. Then its a nickle and dime kind of thing to get it back going again. I had a pool person come out and give me an estimate to have it repaired. After the quote of a thousand dollars it was time to look at other options. Most of the pool people recomended the Polaris 380. So I did some research on you tube. My only concern was the hose in the pool. I wei... read more

Good Product, But ... This is a replacement pressure-side cleaner. The old one, with repairs, lasted 14 years. The new one works well, same style except the infeed tube which is resigned, a possible improvement. However, quality control is awful. The new Polaris arrived broken; the replacement arrived without a float attached. If this is a pattern, it would suggest caution in investing the money for this model pool cleaner ($ 699, with discounts of $50 bringing the total to $650). Amazon was GREAT about replacing the defecti... read more
