Good, but wheels lock once in a while I have owned this now for two years. It cleans really well when it works. My largest complaint/issue is that the wheels lock up once in a while. When I bought it, it already locked up after a week and local Leslie Pool repaired it (apparently something in the gearbox). Then it ran fine for a long time. Now I have noticed that the wheels start locking again. I have gotten in the habit to check wheel rotation every time I clean out the bag. If wheels are stuck, I rock them back and forth u... read more

New Replacing Old Polaris 380 - Great Performance I bought a home about two years ago with a pool. The pool already had a Polaris 380 but it was at least 15 years old. The Polaris was faded and worn looking. I had to replace parts over the last year and decided to get a quote to rebuild it. The quote from a local dealer was "about $300". I checked on the kits to do it myself and they also were high. The dealer wanted $750 for a new unit. I looked on Amazon and found a great buy for a couple of hundred less than the dealer pr... read more

It's OK, but should be better I bought this as a direct replacement. The previous item was from over a decade ago. It lasted for a long, long time. This one works, but is made more cheaply. More on that later. I love it when it works. The idea of being able to plop this in the water, walk away for a few hours, come back and my pool is clean is very appealing. The thing crawls over the whole bottom surface of my 30,000 gallon pool, including the walls. It has enough power to pick up everything from sediment to decent-sized le... read more

    Business response:

Dear helstar, We're sorry your experience with Polaris 380 pressure cleaners has been less than exceptional. We do understand that the cleaner can take some adjustments to get it set up properly in your pool. For this reason, many customers opt to have a pool professional install the cleaner and make such adjustments. This allows the pool owner to sit back and simply enjoy the pool. In regard to hose tangling, as you may be aware, there are some solutions to improve this. Some resources to help can be found at the product pa... read more

Solid product I have had this model for a little over a year and it is working well. My neighbor purchased a more expensive Polaris model and mine it seems to work better than his. My pool is usually cleaned up a very nicely and I only run it for two hours a day. Sometimes it has trouble cleaning my top step in the shallow end and my seat in the deep end and skips the fine debris that gathers there. The only other complaint I have is that the Polaris bag can be really hard to clean out. I have only had to vacuum my pool one ... read more

Worth the cost and great customer service from Polaris Bought this back in Oct 2016. We replaced an older 380 so we had the booster pump already. The older one was falling apart and had cracked in a seam along the water management system. The same thing happened with the new one just 4 months after we bought it, the seam was coming apart. But Polaris sent over a new water management system free of charge since it was within warranty. Now it works just fine. We do have to keep the pool pressure low so it works at optimum leve... read more
