My mom got a new puppy on Saturday and we needed to find a vet for him. I did some research on vets in the area and came across Pure Paws. So far they are so nice and kind, and the other people that came in seems to like them too!! They were so sweet and gentle with Manny (the new puppy) and they were extremely attentive to what he needed. My dear old cat passed away at home in the wee hours of a Sunday. I was already so sad and depressed but also overwhelmed because I needed to find a vet that could handle her cremation services on a weekend. A friend had highly recommended Pure Paws as a feline vet and although my cat was not a patient at Pure Paws, they quoted me a very reasonable price and said I could come in right away. I was very satisfied with my decision to go out of my way to bring my cat here. Doctors and staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. i don't think I ever felt so calm and attended to at a doctors office, their fees were reasonable and the $50 discount for new client didn't hurt either! I would recommend them 100%, no doubt about it.
Pure Paws and Dr. Liff are the best. TLDR: cost effective, friendly, thorough pet care. Absolutely worth 5 stars!! In detail: Front desk staff are great and always remember me and my kitties, even when I'm just stopping in to pick up meds. I started going to Pure Paws after adopting a senior dog (Gucci Poptart) and was given a voucher for a free examination from ACCNYC. The staff are all incredibly welcoming and kind to both humans and their fur-babies and I feel as though the vets themselves do a very good job addressing your concerns knowledgeably without being patronizing like I have seen at other clinics. Last vet I went to wasn't nearly as helpful. They were kind, caring, and also quick! We were in and out in 30 minutes and I felt that they did a very thorough job. They called next day to check up and see how my cat was feeling. I'll return with my car for annual checkups!
I am so surprised to see some of these negative reviews. Since I moved to Brooklyn in January I have spent a lot of time at Pure Paws. My dog, Henry, has a depressed immune system. He is a rescue and was found at about six months old completely emaciated and with a terrible case of demodex mange. Needless to say he gets sick a lot. I am really grateful to the whole Pure Paws team. They helped me navigate the difficult process of bringing my dog with me overseas. They have been patient and informative. Best of all, they were very affordable!
Dr. Liff is the best vet I've ever had! When my dog was terminally ill, she offered a realistic assessment of treatment options, and did not pressure to do any end of life "heroics" or surgery that would not have been necessary. I appreciated her help and honesty during that difficult time and I highly recommend Pure Paws in general for your dog or cat.
