My wife and I had another great experience at Redeye Grill. For apps we had the Yellowtail Jalapeño Sashimi Plate and the Ahi Tuna and Yellowtail Roll, both were excellent. We shared a Double Wedge Salad which was also very good, bit I am not sure why they call it a "Double", the size is normal or small for a wedge, but the flavors were great. For the entree we both had rib-eye steaks, one bone-in, one boneless the flavor and size were excellent. The highlight of the meal may have been the Four Cheese Mac & Cheese, the best ... read more
We were seated right in time with our reservation. Placed our drink order, but with the busy restaurant our waiter forgot to place it at the bar. Once he realized his oversight, he quickly apologized and comped our drinks and dessert. We appreciate the gesture and the oversight didn't damper our meal. Great restaurant!
The Red Eye Grill is great for dinner prior to a Carnegie Hall concert. Excellent and efficient service with excellent food that never disappoints!
I've been here before. Restaurant very nice, food excellent, service good. This time there was live music, and it detracted from the overall feel. Also, no bread, only pretzel rolls which I find a bit absurd for what is clearly not an inexpensive restaurant.
Pre-theater meal: conversation impossible, service less than attentive but helpful when present, food very good, wine list quite expensive
I have eaten at the Redeye many times over the years and am never disappointed. Always seems to be able to fit us in (even though the place is packed when we are there) and always easy to deal with hostess and waiter. Last time was there with 12 people including 4 cousins from Norway. They loved the place, the food and specialty drinks.
This is one restaurant where the interior design is actually more interesting than what's on your plate. The food we ordered was well-enough prepared -- sushi starter, broiled trout over wilted greens, heirloom tomato salad -- but none too innovative. The walls of the large dining room, however, are covered with beautiful, original, brightly colored frescoes depicting many aspects of life in the city and abroad, and well worth a close look.
I always love the live music in the evenings. The staff is friendly and attentive!
There is nothing wrong with the place but for the $ it is not worth it. If you are charging top dollar I want excellent service and food.
