An awful experience renting through these people. By far the worst compared to American homes for rent and century 21.The lack of communication from this company in regards to additional charges on top of rent have been non existent. No certified mail and no emails when it comes to additional payments. We had a window replaced but were not quoted a price for replacement or not even informed of the penalties that would be tacked on if this window wasnt paid in full at the next rent payment. This company is horrible they are bad with communication all around. They have charged me 1,500 dollars for two windows replacements. Evan the property manager said it cost that much because it was going to be professionally done. However, after 4 visitor later they came in to do the windows and he only put in plexiglass windows. I asked them if they could explain to me why he left glass all over my floor and why did he only put in plexiglass glass and didn't fix anything else. This was not professionally at all. If I could give zero stars or negative stars I would!!! This is the WORST place I ever rented from!! I should have read the reviews before signing. You have to go through extensive checks prior to renting, have to make 3 X's the rent etc.... but then every year they jack up the rent to astronomical amounts but don't recheck income or anything to see if you still qualify!!! Im facing the same issues as below been renting off second ave for a little over a year. Every time call maintenance nobody comes out if they do they come out 20 times and issue still not resolved. Unable to get in contact with them. My bank system was down so they were unable to retrieve my rent payment that I made. So Im responsible for over 300 fees in which I dont think is allowed in pa l. Too many issues to even list. The current one is that we have been without a working refrigerator for two weeks. No communication as to when we will get one either. They hike the rent up by an extreme amount but the moment you say you will not renew your lease suddenly the price can drop.Avoid this company if at all possible.
Our main sewer line has backed up TWICE now. The first time the **************** was pouring into the garage and was going to cause damage to the walls. It took too long to get a response from Second Avenue so we were forced to call someone ourselves. I talked to Second Avenue about this and because we "didn't wait long enough" after submitting the work order, they refused to reimburse us for the plumbing costs, even though we saved their property from even further damage. This is a criminal company. We live in Allegheny County Pennsylvania and are in the process of working with the District Attorney. Do not rent from this company, run away. We're in the process of organizing a class action lawsuit that will hopefully ban them from Allegheny County and impose fines.
Maintenance is a joke, they will come out ********* times for quotes before fixing issues that leave the house unlivable while you wait. Healthy homes with the health department is the only reason they fixed the sewage backup after a month.
Do NOT rent from these people! They bought the property I am currently leasing, and they are the most incompetent and unprofessional people I have ever had to deal with. I have been without heat for over two weeks now, in the middle of January, and while they are nice and cozy in Florida, I am in ******** where temps are expected to drop to 3 degrees early next week.
