I rented a storage unit. Which was the second one I looked at because the first one had a hole in the ceiling and was leaking water into it. I couldn't use my own lock as they provided one(which you had to pay for ). I also got a month free. After that first day I NEVER set foot onto the property, never entered the gate code. I am filing this complaint because Public Storage improperly handled the auction and alleged sale of my storage Unit 3167 in violation of Georgia law and its own policies. I would give this facility 0 stars if possible. The entire location is infested with rats. The property manager never answers the phone nor returns phone calls. She is extremely unprofessional and rude. After finding a dead rat along with rat p*** in my unit, the property manager said "thats not my job" when asked about the amount of garbage found around the property. This company has done nothing but scam me and waste my time. I told them I didn't need a lock - that I had one. They put one in the unit that I was to return to the office - but no one is actually ******* the office. I told them I didn't want the insurance. I was told that I would be able to easily take it off. Well, I can't - I can't talk to a person, can't get into the app, or login to any type of account.I have spent an hour of my time today when I should have been working to deal with this awful company. This is the worst place to rent a unit.After just a few months, they increased my rent by over $50 and I did not start with a promotional rate. They will not provide you with any credits either. They say that they are keeping up with the market but that's not true- the same unit and amenities is $50-$75 cheaper. I wish that I knew this. They are also very difficult to get in touch with and have a scam for insurance (make sure to uncheck right away as they apply it automatically!).

I've never left a BBB review before. My experience with Public Storage in **********, ** is perhaps the most difficult business experience I've ever had. So, here we go. Had a unit for a couple of years. It had a big oil spot but at the time was the only one the manager said they had. Paid every month on time. Mid-November, 2025 my son and I vacated the unit. Public Storage is a scam. Ive had my unit since 2019 and my rate keeps increasing, yet Im told its fair market value even though Im paying more than the current advertised rate for the same size unit. Ive spent years asking for a correction and only get excuses. Long-term customers shouldnt be punished. If you have a unit with Public Storage, check your rate and consider closing it.

This place is terrible. They will increase your rent every 3 months over and over again. They will promise that they dont do that just to get you in then like clock work they will increase it. Turn auto pay off if you do rent because they will not warn you it just goes up. This is not the place for you if you are on a fixed income. This place is not accredited w the BBB either. ***** being investigated for fraud. Good luck w this place.
