What I didn’t like was the carpet in bedrooms were extremely filthy with large soiled spots all over—need to be replaced. The mattress was soiled on the side where someone spilled something on it mattress needs to be replaced before anyone else use them. Should replace the old bed linen. lack of organization.
The screen door was busted re-reported it but nobody came to fix it the place is old and smelled moldy.there were cracks in the living room ceiling which will eventually come down. There was a line into the chair underneath it dragging on the floor. The chairs were spotted and dirty I put a towel want to sit on the chair so that Greece wouldn't come through on my clothes. I called several times about the water in the master bedroom that smelled like poop. It was the worst smell ever.
We couldn't find much to do. Some of the things we tried to do, we couldn't find. The remote for the DVD player didn't work. The wifi was weak or nonexistant. There were no lights on when we arrived at the property in the dark to check in. There was a cockroach in the kitchen. The roof in the living room leaked when it rained. The mattress was hard.
Asked for accommodations close to beach with view. I had 2 handicap people with me. We were so far away they went to beach 3x in 7 days. Internet was horrible to get on. No tv in bedroom. I could go on. Sc this year because of accommodations were a nightmare.
This was my first experience in the DR. We stayed in Puertao Plata (supposedly Residence Suites moved to the Tropical) We were promised VIP amenities and were denied consistently and across the board. 2/3's of the restaurants were closed and the ones that were available were booked for decent eating times, prior to our arrival. Construction
Sadly the water smelled like eggs. It wasn't until the second to last day when we finally got a hold of the owner and was able to have it resolved. My 8 year old had to take a shower in the parking lot with freezing water because we had to get the sand out of his bathing suit. We used bottle water to brush our teeth we were so nervous to use the water. On Monday evening we drove home for 2 days because the room filled with the smell so bad .
