Asked for accommodations close to beach with view. I had 2 handicap people with me. We were so far away they went to beach 3x in 7 days. Internet was horrible to get on. No tv in bedroom. I could go on. Sc this year because of accommodations were a nightmare.
This was my first experience in the DR. We stayed in Puertao Plata (supposedly Residence Suites moved to the Tropical) We were promised VIP amenities and were denied consistently and across the board. 2/3's of the restaurants were closed and the ones that were available were booked for decent eating times, prior to our arrival. Construction
Sadly the water smelled like eggs. It wasn't until the second to last day when we finally got a hold of the owner and was able to have it resolved. My 8 year old had to take a shower in the parking lot with freezing water because we had to get the sand out of his bathing suit. We used bottle water to brush our teeth we were so nervous to use the water. On Monday evening we drove home for 2 days because the room filled with the smell so bad . Waiting to hear if I have been granted access to chose date at Key Largo next summer due to horrible “VIP” vacation. Was forwarded to booking section and they don’t have it available yet.
There’s no real follow up on my first review, wasting time

because we didn't get to go at all....
We were met at the door by a family of cockroaches, but hey don't worry there was a piece of paper on the table that said, the scorpions will come out a night and eat the cockroaches. Now that really made us feel much better. Come on. The shower leaked so bad that the ceiling in the unit below us fell. The air conditioning kept going out, the wires to the TV's just hung down the wall from the tv.
