This company overbooked it's self so much that you will wait in the lobby for a hour waiting for someone to help you. Also if you do not request to see a vet doctor they will still charge the same amount and send in a inexperienced vet tech. My dog has gone in for allergy testing and meds and on numerous occasions not been given my dogs Medications at the right time which resulted in loss of hair and open wounds due to scratching from them not being able to to minimal tasks. I called thrive because they advertise affordable pet care, and to be honest I have used them in the past and had a good experience. This time I call ahead to ask about getting my dog spayed. The gentleman on the phone explains what I need to do and then when I ask about cost, tells me about $230 depending on the weight of the dog. Great, not a bad price. Strike Two for Manchaca!! I took my cat who was in pain and limping into the Manchaca location a few months back. My cat is very timid and just lays in my arms. On the door it says Walk Ins were accepted. After waiting 15 min. they told me they could not see my cat. Then a man was a Walk In with a dog and they immediately took him back. Don't bother making an appointment. It's first come first serve. Made an appointment over the phone for 3:15, arrived 5 minutes early & the walk-ins before me were seen first. It's now 4:00 and still haven't been seen. Was just informed they decided to push my appointment back without telling me. Walk-ins who arrived after me are being seen before me. Decent people & friendly service. They offer water in the lobby & have a donation box for the WILCO animal shelter.
Wish I knew that this veterinary office didn't really care about animals just cash and time arrivals. I was 10 min late to my appointment due to traffic build up on highway. I left 20 min before appointment and got to office 10 min late to be rejected by the front desk help. My dog has a worm in her stool that I saw this morning and was only seeking help for the situation. As early as I called I could've found another office. Not really sure why this is called affordable vet care. Took our dog and was shocked at how expensive everything was. The only thing that was "affordable" was the flat rate vet visit fee of $25. Felt very cold, not very welcoming or friendly. Felt very salesman like where they try to sell you anything and everything. Every single little thing was overpriced or regularly priced, not "affordable". Would not recommend and will definitely not be going back.
This place is the wrost thing you can do for your loved ones! I do not see where the "affordable" part comes in? They gouge you for every little thing! My dog needs a pill 2x a day to help with her uncureable condition. It is a needed prescription THAT THEY EVEN SAID SHE HAS TO HAVE! yet this place has to do "test" to see if my dog stills need pills. I can see the way she acts that she will always need these pills! The new patient is lured in by the name "affordable" and the initial reasonably priced puppy shots. "Nose to tail $15 exam" (now $25). Well I can tell you that their charges thereafter are astronomical! Their website indicates 30% less than competing vet clinics. What a lie! We brought our French Bulldog in today for a pre-op appointment for neutering. The average price for neutering in our greater Austin area runs between $50 - $125 depending on the size of the dog.
