Updating my review: I had previously left a negative review when no one appeared to be at the facility when I was trying to pick up my dog (despite being a 24hr business), but since then, Wag has been super attentive and caring with my dog, and I sincerely appreciate it. They have a super spotless facility and very reasonable rates. We've looked at a bunch of different dog boarding places around the peninsula, and Wag is the one to go with. Long story short, I've taken our new rescue Aussie (Jasmine aka Jazz) to Sophia for grooming. She is amazing....she recommended a new cut to help my furry girl cool off and she is so much more comfortable. She also knows we take her up in the hills on the coast so did an extra thorough job looked at her paws. Low and behold she found a super tiny piece of a metal in her paw. As I was doing my usual peruse of yelp reviews for entertainment, I was saddened to see how many poor reviews were posted for my Louie's daycare and boarding location, Wag in Redwood City, and that most of those poor reviews are from new clients. Let me share some advice for future newbies from experience: 1. Do not book online. Go in person, wait patiently for other dog owners to check their dogs in, then go up to the front desk with all shot records and travel dates to get registered. Wag has been an amazing resource for me and my dog, Woodhouse! He goes for the All-Day-Play daycare several times a week, and they are always welcoming and happy to see him. Just the same, Woodhouse gets super excited when we arrive in the morning, and when I pick him up at night he is tuckered out from the day. The ability to pick up and drop off at odd hours is invaluable, as my work schedule is unpredictable and demanding. Wag Hotel in Santa Clara has been a life saver for me. I am a single pet parent and a full-time operating room nurse (that is on call a lot). My dog Zoe loves this place, every time I pull up to the drop-off area she wags her tail and gets very excited to go play with her dog friends. Zoe has stayed overnight several times, and although I know she would rather be home she still does well with the overnights and I have peace of mind knowing that she is in good hands. I love the Wag hotel! This is the only place I leave my dog, Mighty, when I got out of town. I trust them completely! In particular, a few weeks ago my dog had some medical issues during the time I was going out of town. He was on two oral medications and needed a bandage changed. I was nervous to put it in the hands of someone other than me. Lisa, at the front desk, was SO helpful with my dog's needs. This is the second review that I have made about this business and they certainly turned around my thoughts about them. After my older dog's difficult stay, Juan and Paul did a thorough investigation to make it right. They regained my trust to the point where I would go back to them. They really do care. They gave pledged to make communication better and I believe them. Give them a chance. I will!
