About the role
Birdeye is looking for an AI/ML Technical Recruiter to help build the talent behind our next generation of AI-native products.
This role is for a recruiter who understands the AI talent landscape firsthand and has experience hiring specialized AI/ML talent within an AI-native SaaS company. You know how to identify and engage engineers, researchers, and technical leaders who are building AI products, models, and intelligent systems. You understand what makes this talent market unique, where exceptional candidates come from, and how to compete for people who have options across the AI ecosystem.
You will partner closely with Engineering, AI/ML, and executive leadership to build teams that advance Birdeye’s AI strategy. From developing targeted sourcing strategies to advising hiring managers and closing highly sought-after candidates, you will play a critical role in scaling our AI capabilities and helping Birdeye continue its evolution into an AI-native company.
What you’ll do
- Partner with Engineering and AI/ML leadership to develop and execute hiring strategies for specialized technical talent across machine learning, applied AI, generative AI, LLMs, AI infrastructure, and related disciplines.
- Own the full recruiting lifecycle, from talent mapping and targeted sourcing through assessment, offer negotiation, and close.
- Build deep pipelines of AI/ML talent by identifying relevant companies, research communities, technical networks, and emerging talent pools.
- Develop a strong understanding of the AI talent market, including competing companies, candidate motivations, compensation trends, and the skills required to build production-grade AI products.
- Advise hiring managers on talent availability, role definition, candidate calibration, and hiring strategy in a rapidly evolving technical landscape.
- Create compelling candidate engagement strategies that communicate Birdeye’s AI vision, technical challenges, and opportunity to build products with meaningful customer impact.
- Build trusted relationships with candidates and close highly competitive searches through strong communication, thoughtful engagement, and effective offer management.
- Use recruiting data and market intelligence to evaluate pipeline health, identify bottlenecks, improve conversion, and inform hiring decisions.
- Continuously improve technical assessment processes and candidate experiences in partnership with hiring teams.
- Collaborate with the broader Talent team to build scalable recruiting practices and raise the bar for hiring across Birdeye.
What we’re looking for
- 6+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, including substantial experience recruiting AI/ML talent.
- Experience recruiting at an AI-native company, ideally an AI-native SaaS business building and commercializing AI-powered products.
- A proven track record of hiring specialized AI/ML talent, such as machine learning engineers, applied scientists, research engineers, LLM engineers, or AI infrastructure engineers.
- A strong understanding of the AI talent ecosystem and the ability to distinguish specialized AI/ML recruiting from general software engineering recruiting.
- Demonstrated success building pipelines and closing highly sought-after technical candidates in competitive markets.
- Strong talent-mapping and sourcing capabilities, with the ability to proactively identify candidates beyond inbound applicants and conventional recruiting channels.
- The ability to build credibility with technical leaders, understand nuanced hiring requirements, and influence decisions through market intelligence.
- Exceptional candidate management, communication, and closing skills.
- A data-driven approach to recruiting, with the ability to manage multiple searches while maintaining a high bar for talent quality.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve alongside the technology and business.
- Willingness to work from our Palo Alto, CA office Tuesday through Thursday.
Even better if you have
- Experience recruiting for an AI-native SaaS company that has moved AI capabilities into production and commercialized them at scale.
- An established network across the AI/ML engineering community.
- Experience hiring talent specializing in LLMs, generative AI, agentic systems, model evaluation, inference, or AI infrastructure.
- Experience recruiting candidates from leading AI labs, AI startups, or high-growth AI product companies.
- Experience partnering directly with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Heads of AI, and founders.
- Experience recruiting for teams building AI agents, autonomous workflows, or enterprise AI applications.
- A strong point of view on the skills, backgrounds, and signals that distinguish exceptional AI talent.
