Introducing Password Deprecation for User Management

Birdeye has deprecated password creation during user setup, allowing newly added users to securely set their own passwords through an email invitation.

Introducing Password Deprecation for User Management

Why we built this:

  • Simplify the user onboarding experience.
  • Eliminate the need for admins to create or share user passwords.
  • Provide users with a secure way to set their own passwords.

Key capabilities

  • Automatically send an email invitation when a new user is added.
  • Allow users to set their password through the Set your password and login link.
  • Enforce updated password requirements during password creation.
  • Support the new password-setting flow for users added individually or in bulk.

Outcomes:

  • Make user onboarding simpler for account administrators.
  • Improve password security by allowing users to create their own passwords.
  • Eliminate manual password sharing between administrators and users.
