I was in Porthaven short term to recover from an injury. The physical therapists and other professionals in the gym are fabulous. Very competent, and I felt like I was "on a team with them" for my on care, which is what the medical profession expects between patients and providers. These therapists' competence and care are the only reason I gave this facility three stars, instead of only one star. Porthaven is described as a skilled nursing facility. Porthaven Post Acute has really changed my opinion on nursing homes for the better. Clean, comfortable and great care are things that all describe Porthaven. They have a dedicated team that truly cares for each of their residents.

Criminally Overcrowded and Negligent If you care about your loved one's safety, do not send them to PortHaven. My mother was admitted and on her first night, she called for assistance to use the restroom--no one came. She fell, fracturing her sternum and three ribs, and the facility waited eight hours before calling an ambulance. She is now crammed into an 8x6 ft partitioned space with two other patients, separated only by curtains.
