Get directionsMy mother, bless her heart, spent the last few years of her life suffering from COPD and all the illnesses that go along with it. When she went to Adventist Rideout last month it soon became apparent she probably wouldn't survive this latest illness. After ten days at Rideout she was released to go to rehab. She has been to The Fountains many times over the years but they were full. River Valley Care Center was the only facility that would accept my mom. Living at the south end of Yuba City I wasn't too pleased with having... read more
My mother was a resident of River Valley Care Center and loved the staff like they were her children. She enjoyed the activities and had a volunteer job in the dining room. When her short term therapy was completed, she decided to stay long term. I am grateful for all the attention that was given to her while living there.
I was treated very well and was given frist rate treatment all staff was very friendly and attended to my needs when problems arose they were handled quickly and professionally. All staff worked together to get me on my feet and home to my family where I was not a burden to my family but able to dress myself and take care of myself I have another surgery in my future and plan on returning to river valley for my care Thank you John Mullikin
I could never recommend this place to anyone unless it was their only option. Was there for a month and was getting worse instead of better. To be fair some of the staff was good but overall all it was bad! They over medicated me, refused some of the meds I should have had. Food was horrible and I lost 40 pounds. Was never able to get adequate sleep. Sad anyway I left against Medical Advice and thank God I'm in great health now thanks to home physical therapy and common sense!
At first glance this facility seemed very pleasant, and the staff seemed very good at what they do with providing the appropriate care to the patients. I was concerned with my mothers care due to her size and special equipment needed in order to provide her with the care needed. When it came time to get busy everything changed they no loner are able to provide the necessary care to help my mom (so they lied to me on the phone or they are just laZy in person). My mother was not able to go get the testing needed to help her... read more
This facility ought to be shut down. Never ever place the care of your loved ones at the mercy of this "acute care" center. Why 1) My mother was sound of mind and fully capable of making her own decisions. Rather than asking her if she wanted a DNR they asked her husband. 2) On three occasions that I spoke with my mother in the 1 week she was there I had to call the nurse desk to direct them to change her diaper. The 3rd time I had to call 2 times sat on hold for a total of 25 minutes - first to be told that the C... read more
Don't take a loved one to this facility as they are very slow due to understaffing and they will try and blame their mistakes on the hospital that your loved one was released from into their care. It is setup more as a hospital then a rehabilitation center. If you have a special need as a snack for those with diabetes they don't come quickly enough with the snack and could potentially put your loved one in danger. My father was placed here after his hospital stay during which time he was able to get up on his own and walk... read more
Business response:
Hi Sherri, I'm sorry to hear about your father's experience in his skilled nursing facility. I noticed from your profile that you are on the east coast. Is it possible you are referring to the River Valley Care Center in New York? We are in California and they are not affiliated with us. Thank you, Matt
