54th Street was founded in Kansas City, MO by Thomas E. Norsworthy in 1989. He envisioned a place that would accommodate a consistently crowded dining room as well as a lively bar crowd, while offering the quality food and drinks that exceed national chain competitors. At 54th Street, we believe that great food starts with fresh produce, high quality meats and ingredients and meals prepared from scratch. With our amazing range of scratch prepared menu items, we truly have something for everyone. The Five-Four promise is to... read more

I used to like this place because it does have better food than Applebee's and the like. However, I am not down with a place that charges for a side of honey mustard. My waitress: Can I get you anything else? Me: Um, maybe some honey mustard? My waitress: That'll be 75 cents. I guess 75 cents is worth not getting a tip and losing customers for life?
Been going here for a few years. In the beginning it was very good and consistent. They used to do a remarkable job of cleaning the dining area. Something has changed lately. The place is dirty. Service has gotten very slow even when there are only a few tables with customers. They can't seem to get orders correct any more. Why does a "chicken avocado grill" not have any avocado on it? Why do fries ordered with "no salt" come out with salt all over them? Why did the chicken wrap give me the shits all night? That was the fina... read more
I have always been a fan of 54th Street. Due to distance, I don't get there often. We had late lunch, which was a great value. Their soups were okay, nothing life-changing. My Cuban sandwich was good too. We had good service too.
We've visited a few other 54th Street locations in town, so we thought we'd pay this one a visit. 54th is usually a solid option. Typically better than any Applebee's. We had a bit of an odd experience. We came in after what may have been the lunch rush and there were a lot of tables that weren't bussed. The hostess was wanting to seat people but she had to go bus a table to seat us, the people in front of us, and the people behind us. She put in the work while the bus boys dragged their feet. We put in our orders and relaxe... read more
I live a local chain like this that can keep the quality and make you feel like a regular. I've only been to one of these twice and I have to say the burgers here will keep me coming back. I popped in solo for lunch and sat at the bar which was mostly empty. The lady behind the bar was super attentive and friendly. She got my drink (sweet tea) to me quickly and in a tall beer glass. It was nice and cold and huge!! I ordered the cajun burger with seasoned fries and ranch on the side. This bulging burger comes out several minu... read more
Always had good service here, happy hour they have one of the better ones and its twice a day for this place, staff is really nice, what I like is the bar counter with all coins, pix and cards too. Busy lunch rush and u get u food quickly plus depends on what u get too, outside and inside the place it has different pix like just before u open the door u see X-men looking at u something different
The last 2 times I've been here the service and food has been way below par. First time we went in for a late night happy hour. We ordered some appetizers which took quite a while to receive. We bit into our chicken wings which were cold and raw probably flash fried for about 15 seconds. We returned the wings expecting maybe a comp but that didn't happen because they brought a new order out. Sunday night 5/15 we went there after my daughters graduation. They were so understaffed for graduation it was ridiculous. We waited a... read more
Love their grilled fish tacos. Everyone can find something on the menu. You can find coupons in the Val pack to offset your bill.
I'm usually not a fan of heavy or comfort food but I gotta say I love 54th street, they have items that are unique and different from other places like Applebee's and so on. I'm a huge fan of gringo dip so when I tried their waffle fries with gringo I fell in love! If you're not a fan of burgers, steaks, or what not like me - you'll love their appetizers.
