About this business

54th Street was founded in Kansas City, MO by Thomas E. Norsworthy in 1989. He envisioned a place that would accommodate a consistently crowded dining room as well as a lively bar crowd, while offering the quality food and drinks that exceed national chain competitors. At 54th Street, we believe that great food starts with fresh produce, high quality meats and ingredients and meals prepared from scratch. With our amazing range of scratch prepared menu items, we truly have something for everyone. The Five-Four promise is to... read more

Worst service in Olathe. Everytime we go, our server routinely takes our order, someone else brings our food, and we do not see anyone again until the bill is brought to us. We've had to search for a server for drink refills, needed to send back food for being entirely incorrect or overcooked/undercooked, and have been given allergens (e.g. gluten) despite warning the server of a gluten intolerance. Thanks for the death plate. When we have complained, the management has been flippant about our experience; they generally do n... read more

As I have a gluten allergy, I searched out the 54th Street Grill & Bar and discovered that they have a pretty fair amount of menu choices. Yeah! I wasn't up for a big "to-do", so we ordered for take out. We ordered the 15 piece smokin' hot jerk chicken wings, a maui jim's salad and a traditional salad to go. When I placed the order, I was told it would take 15 minutes... after I drove up in 28 minutes, it took another 7 minutes before I was on my way. The "cool" salads were packed in the same bag as the "hot" chicken wings, ... read more

DISGUSTING! i was actually served a sandwich that had a BITE taken out of it. Evidentally someone had returned their meal and rather then throwing it away, they re-served it to me! I also was served a salad that was so old, the cheese on the salad had turned hard;( Will NEVER return no recommend to anyone.

We went on a Friday night with our 3 month old and got seated in less than five minutes. Our waitress was very friendly, although seemed to want to chat rather than wait on us. The food really was good...I had the chicken avocado grille and it was delicious! The servings were slightly on the small side as neither of us needed a take home box and we rarely are able to finish an entire meal at a restaurant. We will definitely go back again.

The Maui Jim Salad is my favorite here! Trying to eat a little healthier. The salad is: Crisp romaine lettuce with red bell pepper, spiced chicken, avocado, roma tomato, carrot, cabbage, fresh grilled pineapple tossed in a dark cherry vinaigrette and topped with candied pecans and bleu cheese. It's really tasty. My wife an I split it. The free bread is great too, they serve it with honey butter. Although I tend to eat way too many. They charge for it after two. 54th Street is famous for their Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches an... read more

My husband and I have been going to 54th St about 1-2 times a week for, I believe, at least 9 years. We've seen staff come and go but love the place so much. Here are some things we love about it. 1) We usually sit at the bar. The bartenders will get to know you and remember what you like to drink and eat. 2) We can go so often because the menu is very diverse. There are burgers, salads, pasta, steak, seafood, sandwiches, Mexican dishes, etc. I could go on and on. Never do I look at the menu and get tired of my selections. T... read more

I WANT this place to get 4 or 5 stars! I really really do! Some of our food was cold....some of it was hot. Some of our drinks were refilled...some were not. Some things took a while to receive...others were too quick. The food actually had good flavor; if it had all been hot, it would have been great! Turn and burn was the order of the night....the ticket was brought out while only half way finished with the entree.... "no rush". The service definitely lacked on the 'friendly' scale as well. The floor manager did not check... read more

Wife and I went and sat in the bar area, its one of those "stuff all over the walls" places. Got the Crown Royal burger (which is a burger with an egg on top ala Red Robin) was excellent; toppings cool and crisp, bacon crispy, meat well cooked. Wife got the Chicken fried steak. This was a platter like serving with gravy and mashed potatoes - definitely an eat half take half home entrée. Service was good, wait for a table was about 20 minutes, the waiter seemed to really know the menu. We had drinks and the bar service was pr... read more

Great bar and grill. My wife and I go here all the time whenever we aren't quite sure where to go. Food is always way better than you expect from a bar and grill. I think they are hiding a top chef back there.
