We went for the initial intake and tour. I caution any parent against a facility that supports, and often seeks, to take children from an IEP to a 504. Because that's exactly what we learned, and it's a large part of the reason we decided against this specific facility. Also because, we were told that they offer in home therapy, but then during the tour they said they absolutely do not offer it. I think there needs to be some sort of training, or education, for the staff.
ABC has been truly life-changing for my kiddo. The technicians & BCBAs are so knowledgeable & supportive! They see my child for all the positive things they are able to be & do. They helped me every step of the way with a diagnosis, support at school and with situations big & small in the real world. THANK YOU ABC!!!
The way the receptionist handled the situation left a bad taste in my mouth. She represents your business and all the work you’ve put into it, but her actions did not reflect that. Information was entered incorrectly, and she didn’t follow through on what she said she would do—basic parts of the intake process. That kind of oversight damages both trust and reputation. Highly recommend! This was the first time leaving our 3 year old with people outside of family and for an extended period of time; everyone here made this transition smooth, not only for our son but also for us as parents. The entire staff is amazing and you can tell they really care for your child. They keep you well informed throughout the day with pictures and their daily log. Starting ABC Elgin was the best transition for our family and child. The location is extremely clean, inviting, and a magical world ready to be discovered. My child is always excited to go to school and is so happy there. Second, the daily communication and pictures received is unheard of! I love seeing pictures throughout the day of my child.
